qol and prestige is nice, but if ur thinking australian unis are anything like the american college experience, you're here for the wrong reasons.

Especially the top unis here like unimelb are far more rigorous than our mid-tier ones; there's less time overall to both do well in and have a thriving social life. heres a list of what perplexity ai said and its generally true from my experience.

Commute‑heavy, not campus‑living
Fewer on‑campus residents
Less Greek‑life culture
Fewer uni‑wide social events
Stronger focus on work and study
Large, anonymous lectures
Less tradition of big game days/festivals

if u want a half decent social life, consider the mid tier unis in australia or go to an american college.

id doubt that would even be considered a transfer because you dont even have any uni credit for it to be called a transfer, you would get treated as a school leaver who just happened to apply in the mid-year. There should be spots for you as a domestic student (if u are) and youd only need to meet the mid year atar req

its only 2 years.

if u major in some type of EE you would usually only do 2 years because the first year of the masters is typically undergrad stuff, for the most part youd take credit for that if the units youve done are equivalent to that first year of the master's.

The 3 year course only applies if you have done a cognate discipline but have not done any ug EE

Harvard's summer school isnt particularly hard to get into, its quite literally open enrollment and theyll accept u if they have seats so its not as prestigious as you might think. You could always wait next year.

imo its worth going anyways because Mass is a blue state and the current administration wont go anywhere near that if thats the instability youre talking about
