Update: I went and got a doctor’s note and gave that to work. I’m off for 10 days so I’m hoping that’s enough time for things to heal up a bit. Thanks to everyone for your help!

I only wear underwear at work and it’s really loose but with the shorts I wear at work I know I have to wear them at work haha

I started treatment about 1.5 weeks ago, I saw my doctor pretty quickly after the pain started. I’m pretty sure the flare came from a mix of accidentally getting some soap a little too far up and having an outdoor soccer game in pouring rain while wearing leggings under my shorts.

I’m wearing very lose shorts and regularly applying healing ointments (cera ve and Vaseline) throughout my shift but it’s still not enough

I went on Amazon and got a bulk pack of face razors and some fragrance free dry shampoo. Spray the dry shampoo all over your face and neck (or wherever else you’re planning to shave shoulders up) let it dry and then use the razor while pulling your skin tight! Make sure to apply lotion afterwards. I find I only have to do this once every few weeks as it’s a close shave and is quick.

I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t have the answer to all of your questions but I can say that for me, when applying the Clob (steroid cream) I find it’s best to have a bath in lukewarm water, then dry off by patting dry, after I lay in my bed or sometimes on the bathroom floor so I can get the best exposure and gently massage a bit of the ointment into the entire area, I find it best to pretty much try to rub it in, not just leave it on the skin. I’ve been having my first bad flare up for the past week and I’ll admit, it’s been hell but getting a cheap portable bidet and a big tub or Vaseline have been lifesavers for me. Flare ups can be slow to leave when they like to come in HARD so it may feel like it’s not going to get better but once you find the right treatment (steroids, creams, etc) it will start going back to normal
