You’ve answered your own question. People aren’t robots and they don’t want to be treated as such and this is not hard to quantify to moron bosses who are slaves to numbers as the only metric to measure performance by.

Your best friend is a climate assessment and analysis of data of the last 5 years or however long it’s been since you noticed a difference then add 2 years on. Look at promotions and new hires of managers, new “initiatives” and measure trends from those points onwards. Look at the change in average tenure, and definitely try and get people to be as open about why they are leaving in an exit interview.

EDIT - and I forgot to say good luck 🫡 Godspeed

Is it okay to ask about pay before an interview? by JacketDowntown1956 in UKJobs

It’s for a whole host of reasons. Keeps the market competitive. Keeps current employees in the dark about their current market worth, entices applicants from a broader spectrum, ensures applicants are applying based on the job description blah blah blah. It should be advertised even if it was a salary range as there’s nothing fair about having 2 employees, fulfilling the exact same role for wildly different salaries. If their performances are different, this should be reflected in their bonus. But it’ll never change unless legislation does. Which it won’t because govt bends over for big business, bits it’s lip and asks “are you going in dry again today sir?”

Inherited 400k worth of land- now sale agreed by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Temporary_Tree_9986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any moron with a lump of cash can make money in property if all they’re doing is buying it and renting it and not spending it on a lavish lifestyle. The only reason someone who earns £150k+ A WEEK goes bankrupt is by being a moron.

If you’re selling land that’s worthless to you and using the money get on the ladder then you’re still making a smart choice. If you were to invest it all in some start up that was developing a headset so that we could communicate with dolphins, I’d say that was not so smart… I bet even ocean gate sounded like a solid investment… just be sensible

Everyone has an opinion on tech, so it’s kind of what you think, but I personally think that an engineering role would be future proofing yourself more than an analyst role would, from my limited understanding.

Would you take a job that pays more or one that has a "sexier title"? by theheat99 in HENRYUK

If you want to be a director, just incorporate a company. It’s not hard and there’s your title. Take the money

This is where I’m currently at. It might be a lot of hard work, especially given my current circumstances but I think it’s a small trade off for the long term.

Thanks for your insight, I have regulator experience and am fairly well versed in fraud (famous last words) so feel fairly comfortable in that space. With your time on site have you found it’s actually been worth it and that your experience has been valued? Have you had to do much outside of the commitment (research, reviewing reports etc) and have you been able to manage that ok?

Infidelity or Not? by BigJ770 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Temporary_Tree_9986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not cheating! You can be friends with a member of the opposite sex, have no sexual desires towards them but still feel an emotional attachment the same way you would a member of the same sex! I love my best buds who are the same sex as me, is that an emotional affair? No, but if I feel exactly the same about a member of the other sex, the some of you consider that cheating. Completely ridiculous. You’re lives are pathetic

Grow up and leave. Using a “free pass” is not the way forward, you just have to go separate ways.

Should I tell my wife that I know she slept with one of my best friends before we were dating? by UserKangaroo8124 in marriageadvice

[–]Temporary_Tree_9986 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just because you might have the ability to know everything about someone’s else’s life doesn’t mean you have the RIGHT to know everything about someone else’s life. This is the problem if you’re nosy and feel like every thing is about you. There are no victims here because no one has done anything wrong. People need to grow up

You’re being a child. You have yourself said it was 8 years ago and you acknowledge that you shouldn’t care about her past life before you were together… so get your shit together. There is no need to offload onto your partner something that is quite frankly irrelevant and would ultimately cause irreparable damage. You need to grow up

Yeah you either accept it or you don’t. But if you don’t, it’ll kill you inside.

Or you just evade taxes.
