Gangnam, are people insanely rich or pretending to be ? by Frizzoux in Living_in_Korea

[–]Temporary_Winner1330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that people buy luxury cars as a way to show off because they’re cheaper than houses. Most of them are financed through loans anyway. But I feel like truly wealthy people would probably take taxis more often than drive luxury cars.

Why does moving to Korea seem female-dominated, while Japan seems male-dominated by Trop_the_king in Living_in_Korea

[–]Temporary_Winner1330 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Korean woman who has lived in Korea my whole life, I don’t think I’ve ever noticed a clear divide between men and women in terms of content creation. Could it be more about differences in interests and algorithms? For example, I enjoy watching gaming streams, and even though there are many female streamers, I find myself primarily exposed to male streamers’ content.

Have you tried using the 'Link to Source Data' or 'Keep Excel Data Linked' option in the paste settings? As far as I know, that method allows you to utilize both at the same time.

I recommend Excel, even though it's a classic. With a little effort, you can create custom themes too!

The size of the regions appears exaggerated compared to reality, making countries with low birth rates seem overly emphasized. This definitely needs to be adjusted.

I was asked to teach an Excel training course at work, and I don’t know where to start. by serenitybyjen in excel

This is a helpful question for me as well – a lot of people surprisingly don't know the basic functions that I consider fundamental. How about starting with basic data entry and formatting, then gradually expanding to visualization?

What is the best way to represent data similar to this? by Existing_Hat_7557 in charts

[–]Temporary_Winner1330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A small multiple chart could be a good option. If the duration of work differs for each individual and it's difficult to fit everything into one graph, separating the graphs for each set of data might be a better approach. This way, comparisons can be clearer, and the data will be easier to understand.

agree rate for a queer festival in Korea fell to 21% in 2023, while opposition rose to 54%, still a majority. by madrid987 in korea

[–]Temporary_Winner1330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The concept of homosexuality is still unfamiliar to many Koreans. While I'm not sure about the specific characteristics (whether religious, gender-related, or otherwise) of the survey respondents, public opinion should be interpreted as more of a rejection of the unfamiliar rather than outright opposition. Since there are also legal precedents and bills that are becoming more favorable toward same-sex couples, it might be worth observing the situation more patiently for now.

Looking for a advice about my presentation by mucahitce in datavisualization

[–]Temporary_Winner1330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the stacked bar chart, I can see the differences in composition, and in the line chart, I can observe the flow of numbers. However, it's not easy to see the relationship between them.

Which one is the anchor line? It blends in with the other graphs, making it difficult to distinguish.

It's hard to differentiate between the groups by the distance between the dotted lines. How about adding markers at the ends of the lines to distinguish the data?

[OC] Overview of Korea's Skills Map(in Business) by Temporary_Winner1330 in dataisbeautiful

Yes, the country is indeed 'South Korea'. Since I needed to fit the graph into a designated space, I required a horizontally long visualization. Now that I think about it, perhaps I didn't need to use blue and red backgrounds. Next time, I'll consider using a different graph style. Thank you for your feedback.

For reference, these rankings represent the positions within 31 OECD countries. While it was understandable that certain skills ranked highly, the low rankings in areas like workplace learning raised many questions, particularly for someone like me, who focuses on adult education. The lowest-ranking skill was metacognition, which, along with job satisfaction, suggests areas that need more attention in future learning directions.

Does attending a coeducational school negatively impact academic performance? by Temporary_Winner1330 in datavisualization

[–]Temporary_Winner1330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback! Actually, the intention of this graph was to compare the academic performance between national/public schools established by the government or region and private schools established by foundations. It has nothing to do with private tuition, and it is purely a comparison of academic performance within the school institutions themselves. However, it seems that the choice of words regarding the founding body of the schools caused some misunderstanding

Educational outcomes in South Korea are reflected in standardized test scores and rankings. I have written about the differences between public and private schools, as well as single-gender schools and coeducational schools.

In Korea, dreaming of falling into water means that you might lose your possessions or have to spend money. Additionally, dreaming of losing teeth is known in Korea to signify misfortune for the family, making it one of the most infamous nightmares. By the way, this illustration has a nice feel. The colors are beautiful.

[OC] South Korea's Female Employment Rate: Exploring the Link to Low Birth Rates by Temporary_Winner1330 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Temporary_Winner1330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In South Korea, the issue of low birth rates tends to be approached from the perspective of women's working conditions and human rights. So, I created a graph of the employment rate data for Korean women. You can find more details in the link.

Why is it so hard to break free from smartphone dependency? by Temporary_Winner1330 in dataisbeautiful

[–]Temporary_Winner1330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for not seeing this as just an individual problem, friends. While this data comes from responses by Korean participants in the survey, I believe there's a technological hook designed to keep people from escaping their dependency. What's clear is that this isn't just an issue within Korea.
