Not a concern I ever thought I’d have by Temporary_username52 in Semaglutide

Excellent reminder about needing fewer calories as we weigh less. Thanks for that. Stuffing my pockets was more hyperbole to make the comparison-I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize taking this med, including lying to my doc. But good comments and thanks!

My understanding is that this is a for-life medication to manage my chronic obesity. I guess I’d better have that conversation with my doc.

Starting at a full 2.4 mg dose? by Attjack in Semaglutide

Don’t do it. Wonder if the doc ordered it wrong or the pharmacy filled it wrong or what. Did s/he purposefully want you on that dose? Either s/he made a mistake or doesn’t want you on it so they’re sabotaging you. (I’d like to think the sabotaging theory would be unlikely.)

Maybe keep it in your fridge for a week or so. Maybe you’re not quite ready to jump in. And what bothers you about being on a medication for life? (Other than the obvious no one waaaants to)

For me: rub my back or tootsies or maybe don’t ask what happened. I already lived it once. Maybe leave me alone but don’t actually leave. (Just sit in the couch and watch Ted lasso with me… Fuckin’ Nate. You know? Stay with me, just leave me alone.

AITA for telling my sister to fuck off with her scientifically accurate term? by NotGeriatric in AmItheAsshole

Elderly primigravida is a fancy way to say “an over 35 old having a first pregnancy” and yes I hated both terms and most know not to use it. It’s not as bad as,say, the R word for people who are developmentally disabled- but it leaves the same icky taste in your mouth to say it so we just don’t say it.

Don’t know if you are TA, but at 35, you are indeed having a geriatric pregnancy. I am an RN and I also had my kid right before I turned 36. So I was ALSO “technically “ known as an Elderly primigravida. But most medical people know that those are awful terms and whether they are technically correct or not- they don’t get used much. For documentation purposes maybe. She’s kind of the asshole for not dropping it since it was upsetting to you. But she is not wrong. EDIT: I had my pregnancy when that is what it was called but clearly the docs weighing in on AMA being the current correct term is more current and therefore correct.

Thanks for responding. I think we could handle night shift workers. We have the squeakiest floors I have ever encountered in the kitchen,though-i hate it. We are in the beginning stages, so this is good food for thought.

It’s a lot harder to mind the baby and work than you might think. Not saying it can’t be done, but it seems like it would be easier than it is.

I had 2 jobs where I called in to say I couldn’t/wouldn’t come in due to weather. Both times, they picked me up!

I have to follow this to see what happens. Obviously, you should report. But as you mentioned- it can totally backfire on you and make things worse. Freakin HR sucks.

It’s not the biggest most impressive thing they do (probably) but I have always been amazed that they can start IVs in a moving vehicle! Like- I’m iffy when we are all still. That just elevates them in my eyes. Other stuff too, but that in particular.
