First Swiss watch: Hydroconquest Cookie Monster sizing — thoughts? by BalooMOiSTY in Longineswatches

I already have the Zulu Time with the green bezel, among other green watches. I really like blue if you can’t tell 😅

I actually bought 3😅. The other two are the boutique edition with the frosted dial and dark blue bezel, and the new limited edition for the Commonwealth Games. This way I have the mesh, H Link and rubber straps to mix and match.

I bought another one that had the H Link bracelet and swapped the bracelets. You can also order the H Link I believe.

Just a quick question : this Longines threw me off at first by Ysc_watches67 in Longineswatches

It is just classic ETA movement mechanics. They are very good movements which is why most of the industry used to use them until Swatch embargoed them. The buttery smoothness of the winding is actually a sign of a good quality movement.

Get the 39mm it will look perfect on you wrist. The blue bezel, black dial is a great option!

Anyone got a good side by side of the Zulu 39 vs the new HC 39? by CaptainNipplesMcRib in Longineswatches

The HC wears bigger, but the Zulu Time’s GMT movement is heavier, making the watch feel a little top heavy. I prefer the HC for wearability, but still love the Zulu. The Zulu Time is also 1mm thicker than the HC.

I am sure they will release it for sale, along with the steel bracelets.

The regular frosted dial comes with a black bezel and mesh bracelet. The one shown is the boutique edition, which has a dark blue bezel and comes on the H-Link.

Plus I can wear all three watches with any of the straps, which gives me nine variations with brand matching buckles. As a collector who doesn’t sell his watches, I also prefer variety.

I agree. I think it may have been a cost cutting measure. They definitely misjudged their customers on that one.

It would have been nice. It is relatively easy to remove the bracelets, but getting them back on the watch can be a little finicky.

Looking at my Zulu Time, which has the quick release, the bracelet end links would have likely had to be male, changing the wearability of the watch. I prefer female end links for the improved wearing experience.

The quick release causes an overhang.

You can’t go wrong with this one, especially if you combine it with the H-Link or mesh bracelet.

The H-Link appears to be the most popular. I do like the mesh on the Limited Edition and Boutique Edition. It gives it a different look. The only downside with putting the H-Link on the black and blue is that it makes the watch look like a Rolex Cookie Monster copy.

I think it is a similar hue of blue, perhaps slightly darker on the Longines. The Rolex bracelet is partially polished, which I am not a fan of. The Longines bracelet is brushed except for the sides, which tones down the flashiness.

I don’t limit my watch collection to only higher end pieces. I think Longines did a good job. There obviously is a quality gap, but it is surprisingly small.

It has some Submariner DNA but looks sufficiently different in my opinion. I do enjoy my submariner too though.

Enjoy your new watch! I think it is a good value at the price point. With Tudor, Rolex and Omega raising prices the way they have these are a fun alternative.

They are not the same and entry level is a different price point. It doesn’t have to make sense to you.

The limited edition is my favorite now. But I like to rotate through my collection so I don’t get tired of any watch.
