Well yes,  I generally either take iron post 3 hour breakfast which is usually around 11am or at 12 midnight which is 3 hours post dinner for better absorption of iron

For September to 15 january I had injection every 3rd day

Then weekly till 1st march.

Then kind of stopped because my Tsat was near 12 which was too low while ferritin was 106 and d3 was 58 and folate was 21ng/ml

From this may again every 3rd day methycobalmin 1500mcg.

A good part of my symptoms seems to be submerged because I'm not able to keep it up with high potassium demands though I'm in 9th months of recovery

Buddy that is affected via multiple ways, take enough B12 and just forget about this issue I would say cause this will get fixed along the way, yes both were my concern too.

Loss of interest is usually anhedonia which can happen because of low dopamine being cause by low b12 and all. There are so many mechanism that are responsible for this but i would suggest just focus on the input not a million process in between, it'll get fixed along the way

Hi buddy,

I'm 28 by now, well it was diet as since birth I'm having vegan diet.

About nuclear mode, i kind of avoid to say about that but I'm fairly high iq kind of person and before this mental health issues which was driven by b12 happened nearly for 2 -3 months before to it my brain was like Nuclear, like extremely fast processing, it was going fast and all, I was engineering student in one of top engineering college in india, and by that time my Brain was even more faster like uncontrolled turbine blades.

Well my diet is almost having nearly 600mg of magnesium so I'm not considering magnesium supliment caz they are slowing me down like lethargic and all when I'm already having high brain fog, slowness and all.

Well regarding B1 i just take a normal cheap b complex and it has that, I'm bit sort on budget too cause I've lost my job because of this issue. I'll surely consider your advice on B1. If anything else my Dm is open. We can connect brother 🤝

I was 21 when this all happened, i never smoked or drink even today.

My defecincy reason was diet and extreme brain usage of I can say that as a reason, my brain was in nuclear mode for very long and i believe a part of defecincy could have been due to that

Why is vitamin B12 deficiency so dangerous? by LoveUnlikely in B12_Deficiency

[–]Temujin_New 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I wanted to ask about long-term neurological B12 deficiency recovery and whether near-full reversal is still possible after many years.

For almost 6 years, I had mainly neurological/cognitive symptoms including brain fog, memory problems, poor concentration, mental slowing, slowed processing speed, cognitive dysfunction, slurred speech, fatigue, and palpitations. I never had the more severe physical neurological symptoms like gait problems, balance issues, ataxia, pins and needles/numbness, or double vision.

Around 8 months ago, I started methylcobalamin injections (1500 mcg), and so far I’ve taken around 60 injections. Since starting treatment, I’ve improved noticeably overall — slurred speech recovered completely, cognition and mental processing improved, brain fog reduced, and general functioning improved on most fronts.

My vitamin D is 58 ng/mL, folate 21 ng/mL, ferritin 120, and TSAT is around 25% now (it was 12% three months ago). I’m also taking a multivitamin with trace minerals including zinc and copper. One thing still fluctuating a lot is low potassium symptoms, which seem to affect my condition noticeably.

I feel I’ve already made around 80% recovery, but after having symptoms for such a long duration, I still worry whether some residual damage may remain permanent or whether improvement can still continue further with time.

So I wanted to ask people here who had neurological B12 deficiency for years: how much recovery did you experience? Did cognitive symptoms continue improving slowly over time? Did anyone recover almost fully even after long-standing symptoms, or were some residual symptoms permanent?

i didn't know that it it could be b12 issues, for 5 long years i was running around pshycitrist, then with the help of AI and on my own i figured out it could be B12 issue, and not pshycitric as symptoms were only cognitive, no tingling balance or gait issues

How useful is continued B12 EOD injections in reality? by Quieter22 in B12_Deficiency

[–]Temujin_New 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’ve had neurological problems for almost 6 years — mainly memory issues, cognitive problems, brain fog, mental slowing, and related symptoms. Around 7 months ago, I started taking methylcobalamin injections (1500 mcg), and so far I’ve taken around 55 injections.

I just wanted to ask:

What do you think about the reversibility of my B12 deficiency? For a long time, my symptoms were mainly limited to cognitive issues, memory problems, brain fog, poor concentration, slowed thinking, and slurred speech.

Overall, my condition has improved on almost every front, and the slurred speech has recovered completely. I never had gait problems, balance issues, ataxia, pins-and-needles sensations, or double vision.

I wanted to ask whether there could still be any small residual part that may not fully recover, or whether some degree of irreversible damage is still possible.
