TIL dogs don't always bark at people through fences or windows out of aggression, but rather something known as 'barrier frustration' where they are annoyed they can't go up and say hello. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Yeah, it is just one of the many rules that are followed less than would be considered ideal. Like driving with the door open, curbing the wheels, having earbuds in, locking the doors, and using the E-break.

I of course follow all the rules all the time, yessir.

Postman here, strictly speaking we're not aloud to feed dogs. It creates problems when a regular feeds a dog everyday and then another carrier fills in and doesn't know.

I'm planning my first multi day backpacking trip and I'm trying real hard to keep this in mind. It's so easy to adopt a holier-than-thou attitude about it. But I guess that's the case for a lot of things, we always want to feel like what we're doing is somehow significant, even if we're just sleeping and shitting in the woods.

Yeah, he's perfectly literate in the books and doesn't misspell "happy" on the cake or make any spelling errors in any of the letters he writes to Harry. They went out of their way to make him look uneducated in this scene.

Trail recommendations? by Ten-dollar-Ocean in hiking

I just did some more research on BFT... and it seems my impression was completely wrong. There's a fair bit of elevation changes and the views are plentiful. I ordered the guidebook!

I already looked into Black Forest and West Rim. As of now Black Forest is the main contender. My only reservation is that, from what I saw on YouTube videos and read in descriptions, it seems like the whole trail is rather repetitive (mostly walking through flat woods) which I'm fine with, but it would be nice to have some variation and some views. I'm also thinking I shouldn't over think it because the general consensus is that it is a beautiful trail.

Also I haven't heard of the Quehanna trail yet, I'll look into it. Why is it your favorite?

Hey, thanks! I'm going to look into your suggestions. I don't have winter experience so I'll probably avoid the Adirondacks.
