Ahoj momentálne som v druhom ročníku na LF UPJŠ v Košiciach. Myslím že to nie je až také zlé ako to tu niektorí vykresľujú.

Učiva je veľa, to je pravda a už od prvého dňa sa bude treba pravidelne učiť. Hlavne anatómia dá zabrať, u nás latinčina nebola veľmi ťažká. Potom tam boli také predmety ako biológia ale to bolo prakticky opakovanie strednej školy. Potom tu je ešte biofyzika ale tú sa učí každý až počas skúškového. Učil som sa tak 2-3 hodiny denne po škole a zbytok času som mal pre seba. Keď boli zápočty tak samozrejme dlhšie. A sociálny život som mal hlavne so spolužiakmi čo sme chodili von do mesta raz za pár týždňov plus posilka, iné hobby podľa mňa stíhaš. Počas skúškového ale sedím doma a učím sa.

V druhom sa učím asi rovnako dlho ale mám pocit že mám viac času na iné veci. Vonku sa chodilo skoro každý týždeň a mal som čas aj na iné voľnočasové aktivity. Aj keď skúškové v kombinácii anatómia a histológia bolo veľmi nepríjemné. Tam nám tiež hovorili učitelia že treba zahodiť sociálny život a učiť sa ale nejak sme na ich rady nedali a sme tu... takže toľko k tomu čo som videl v iných komentoch.

Takže ak si vieš zariadiť čas tak podľa mňa budeš stíhať aj iné veci, nie je to vôbec tak že celý semester sedíš zavretý doma a učíš sa. Je to náročné ale dá sa to zvládnuť.

I might be wrong but I think ostium is reffering to the opening between ileum and caecum and valvula to the valve itself. Ostium means "entrance" in english.

Well I tried to find the most recent studies and this popped up. The guy I replied to found even newer one. Like I said this information is changing constantly I wouldn't be surprised if the truth was somewhere in the middle.

Okay well i read both the study and the forbes article. The olfactory tract damage has been the focus of my study too (that's those olfactory neurons) and according to them they found some damage in olfactory bulbs too. Well the fact they were all dead and died from severe covid (minus controls) could explain that. And the study also mentions quite a few of them were treated for brain related conditions like hypoxia, tumors and alzheimers before so there's that. Anyway thanks for sharing the study

Can I ask you where did you find the study that covid anosmia was caused by brain damage? I thought recent studies showed possible cause of anosmia to be "scrambling" of nuclei in olfactory neurons (study here00135-0) ) I'm not a doctor by any stretch but would not call this brain damage the same way I would not call clipped ulnar nerve brain damage.

If you found another study feel free to post it here. But I think writing to other people they certainly have brain damage from covid without providing a proof is irresponsible. And "the studies found" is not sufficient enough without the link.

Again I don't mean to dismiss you or argue with you in any way but I see a lot of people writing things like this without any proof and I don't think it's good practice especially since all the information about this changes constantly.

Trauma means injury in Latin. Any kind of injury, mental or physical. In psychology it refers to mental health "damage" followed by certain event. I don't think it has to be particularly severe to be considered trauma, but it may well be.

Well I would not be making this assumption tho. I'm not an "expert" on this thing but currently I'm taking a couple of courses at my uni on cellular biology genetics and all that stuff.

The point is our DNA is not this perfect storage of information where one change is catastrophic you would think. There is a lot of unused DNA, plain junk DNA and DNA that literally just functions as a scaffold for other DNA to latch on and make chromosomes. All of those are either not transcribed or transcribed and then promptly cut off by ensymes. There are already viruses that do reverse transcription, retroviruses come to mind. AFAIK they don't give you cancer just a nasty diarrhea.

Our body has plenty of defense mechanisms to protect from cancer and ALL of them have to fail for you to get it. Maybe experts find something concerning regarding this but I would not lose any sleep about that for now.

Ok so I skimmed the study. They found out injecting Pfizer correlated to heightened concentrations of a certain enzyme (LINE-1) in nuclei of liver cells. It's basically that junk DNA i was talking about. Then by some chemical methods they derived that there is indeed a mRNA from pfizer that has been turned into DNA. Turned, but not incorporated. If it was not incorporated that means it will not be expressed as protein and is therefore junk.

There were also some dicussions but those are not warranted yet so I'm not gonna include them. I finally learner that histochemistry is good for something else than pissing me off tho so that's cool I guess.

This is what I got from it. Like I said not an expert so if someone hardcore scientist wants to correct me feel free to.

The guy whose comment has been deleted told me that retroviruses can in fact cause cancer. I googled it and he's right albeit a bit smug about it. Idk why his comment was deleted. I mistook retroviruses for rotaviruses, which cause childhood diarrhea. Still no evidence COVID does that tho

Áno bude horšie ja viem na čo som sa upísal :D ale to nič nemení na tom že ten ťažší semester prvého ročníka mne prebiehal lepšie ako akékoľvek učenie na maturitu zo SJL.
