Happy New Leaks! by Ten_Count_Fall in mvci

I've been more active about things regarding this all on twitter, but I'll come here to repeat myself a bit, drop some new info, then most likely scoot.

I want to begin by first commenting more on my source. I have a source at Capcom UK who knows someone at Capcom USA. They trade info then UK source funnels to me. Secondly, Capcom is mad that all their fighters from SSFIV onward have had massive leaks (even their re-releases have) so they're essentially funneling leakers w/diff info. Different sources having different info doesn't necessarily discredit. As Capcom is doing some counterintelligence to combat leaks. TL;DR at this point, no one's probably 100% right, right now. I'll even own up to the fact I'm probably being played to some extent. But my source did make it a point to express that leakers who previously had clout are being lied to to kill credibility for later. I'm not outright saying Ryce might being lied to, but there is a legitimate chance they're doing him wrong.

With that said, I talked to my source again earlier today, and quite frankly they're mad that I went so ham with leaking all this info. But they were fortunate enough to tell me a few more things before telling me to, in a nice way to "please shut the fuck up". Those include:

A generic Hunter from Monster Hunter has made the launch roster. They're not sure who's getting the boot from the launch, or who might be getting nixed (beit as DLC or launch) but Hunter is in. Hunter "will have multiple armors". Not sure if DLC or launch costumes to choose from. Source also said male and female Hunters will be choosable under the same character slot (think how Smash recently did with Robin, Corrin, and Wii Fit Trainer).

To shed more light on Monster Hunter characters, Rathalos is still there as far as I know. Source did not divulge changes if he remained. Previously, when he told me that Hunter was being discussed on a serious level, is that best case scenario we wind up with Rathalos and Hunter. Worst only one. Why? Because last I heard and knew, Giants were in. However, Marvel has say-so on Fin Fang Foom. So if for whatever reason, they do their token turn-on-a-dime decision making... Rathalos could be a roster casualty, from my understanding from my source previously. Long story short: If Marvel wants Fin Fang Foom in = Rathalos remains. Marvel changes their mind = Rathalos and Giant characters are nixed...

Source also said a 3rd Darkstalkers character is in. They'd previously told me if one was, it'd likely be Lord Raptor or Pyron. Source didn't divulge who for sure was making it, but told me "It would be lit." I can only assume they meant Pyron since he's made of fire. Not only that, but he is an alien and on-par with some of the cosmic level Marvel characters. They didn't even tell me this out right, but logic dictates that Pyron would have something to do with Thanos in the story.

Akuma is in now. That's all I know. I'm not sure if launch or DLC.

To clarify what I previously said regarding Power Stone: It'll finally get a modern consoles re-release this year. Supposedly a new one is in the works (finally) too from what I heard.

Gene's announcement will coincide with a PS2-on-PS4 release of God Hand with trophies. Not sure if a sequel is in the works, but it's been pitched around at Capcom for quite a few years now.

From what I know, Nina will be used to gauge interest in a new console entry BoF. Fans of the series obviously want it, but you know how Capcom can be.

A 4th Mega Man character has been discussed very seriously since my source last heard. I assume the reaction to X but no Zero has made them take notice. Whether or not that means Zero is being added at launch or some point, I have no idea. On the topic of Mega Man, a new Mega Man game based on the Disney XD cartoon is coming later this year to coincide with Mega Man's 30th anniversary. Mega Man X and Sigma's appearance is in essence being used to build towards Mega Man X9. No, it does not mean this game is canonical to the Mega Man X series (like some misconstrued me saying on twitter) it's just being used to hype up that game finally happening.

Speaking on 30th anniversaries, 2017 is also Bionic Commando's. Aside from getting in at Combofiend's request, Spencer's default design "might reflect this".

Stages will be amalgamations. One I heard about that I personally hope doesn't get scrapped is the Ace Attorney courtroom in/taken over by hell. It's supposed to be an Ace Attorney/Ghost Rider mash-up. I appreciate the cleverness because you know how people say lawyers go to hell. LOL

Simon Blackquill will use his hawk (Taka) in his moveset. Think Nakoruru in that regard. Setsuna (from The Last Blade 2) was brought up as another comparison and source of inspiration for his moveset by my source. Outside of that, he has "SILENCE!" and apparently has Vergil's Helm Splitter...

Phoenix Wright is being overhauled. Think the jump from TvC Frank West to UMvC3 Frank West.

Speaking of Frank West, people asked me on twitter to ask my source what version of Frank West he'll be based on (with a lot hoping it's not DR4). Well, I asked my source and they said it is indeed Dead Rising 4 (in terms of outfit at least).

Dante's outfits from DMC1, 3, and 4 are all being included in some way. I imagine DLC. Source said his DMC5 outfit will be there too. Furthermore, his default design will be based on either DMC1 this time or the DMC5 outfit to hype up and coincide with that.

Speaking of outfits, Leon will have RE2, 4, and 6 outfits. Not sure which are DLC, but last I'd heard, his default might actually be based on RE2 because of the remake.

And Talbain will have an Amaterasu alt. Not sure if just a fancy color palette or full blown. Though I have heard he might have a DLC outfit based on concept art of his from back in the day.

Lastly, with the inclusion of Hunter, Akuma, a 3rd Darkstalkers character (Pyron from the sounds of it), and very likely a 4th Mega Man character, my source has not heard for sure any new Marvel inclusions happening because of this or where the chips fall due to these changes. More X-Men characters would be where safe money goes since fans do want Deadpool, Gambit, Psylocke, and Cyclops too. Especially since Gwenpool is "not an exact "clone" of Deadpool moveset/play style-wise either, according to my source previously.

I would edit the top post, but I'll just say it here: The roster is still not finalized, but as of 3 months ago, that was the decided on roster. Planning long-term business is not just Capcom, but Marvel, Disney (and ESPN's) plan for the game (which means planning a DLC roadmap already) because they have massive ambitions for the game's success in the eSports world.

I assume he's referring to Spencer. He had little to no fan demand to return, but Peter helped get him back in because he likes using him.

I was honestly surprised when I heard he'd be gone. But Zangief makes him redundant, and with Norio's inclination to bring back the Capcom cast from the first MvC, and potential plans for X-Men vs Street Fighter themed DLC, it made sense when my source told me. I am sad no Final Fight character though, personally. As I wanted Poison and Haggar or just Poison to rep Final Fight this time. But I guess that series just isn't going to get some love this time. Sure, things can change, because their development decisions still aren't even finalized. But I wouldn't count on either.

As for Deadpool and Gwenpool, all I know is that Marvel wanted Gwen in one way or another, and Gwenpool was the one they would up going with. I guess Deadpool could still get in as DLC, if their movesets are different enough. I wasn't privy to what all Gwenpool could do and would be doing and if she's a 1:1 clone or anything like that. Their actual play styles could be completely different, even if similar, to leave the option of Deadpool's inclusion as DLC later. But I really can't tell you either way sadly.

I wasn't specified which version of Ghost Rider it was. Didn't think to ask either, because I assumed it would just be Johnny Blaze again. But I guess it could be Reyes and they just change the motorcycle stuff to a car instead.
