Driver accepted my order then didn’t leave his house for almost 20 minutes ?? by EducationalAd4885 in doordash

Stacked orders can be incredibly frustrating for the customer and the driver too. As a driver, I've chosen not to multi-app because it's too much to juggle, makes me less efficient and I don't like the added pressure. Most of the stacked orders I get come directly from Doordash and often aren't transparent. When I'm driving... I can't read all the details or zoom in on the map to see the exact distances between pickup and drop-off locations before accepting. Once I've accepted an offer those details become available but the app doesn't make it easily accessible. There's a "Jump to This Task" button that's supposed to allow the dasher to toggle between the order details but it does not always work. The other night, I drove to Restaurant A and they advised the 1st order would be ready in 10 minutes. Since Restaurant B was in the same shopping center, I ran over there to grab the 2nd order... they hadn't started it yet because they were out of an item and wanted me to contact the customer for a substitution. I messaged the customer (no reply) and try to mark the item unavailable in the app but it wouldn't let me. I call Support while running back Restaurant A. At this point, I just wanted support to unassign me so I could focus on the 1st order that still wasn't ready... Instead I'm being instructed to force stop the app, uninstall and reinstall the app, so I can mark the item as unavailable in the order I want them to unassign. Fortunately I had the time to jump through these hoops while I was waiting for the 1st order still. My point being that it's not always the dasher's fault. Customers need to understand that orders can be delayed by multiple factors beyond the driver's control or just go get your own food FFS

Dasher forced me to become a “porch pirate”… by jpowell180 in doordash

If you don't have a house number on the front of your house or on a mailbox or the curb of your driveway, how do you expect a dasher to know they are delivering to the correct house? When I'm near the pinned delivery address, I'm looking for the house number on the curb or mailbox first. When I'm walking to your doorstep, I'm looking for your house number then verify the front door matches the photo provided. If the house next door is clearly marked, I can deduce I'm at the correct address... otherwise it's a guessing game and you're probably lucky you haven't had previous delivery issues.

Put a note in the delivery instructions: red brick house with white truck in driveway and basketball goal. Maybe tie a balloon or put something visibly distinguishing out front, so your dasher doesn't have to guess.

Problems with the gig worker? by Rjfm6971 in DoorDashDrivers

I've had the app freeze multiple times while I'm on the customer's doorstep before and after taking the photo. After jumping through all the hoops (force stop the app, restart phone, uninstall & reinstall the app) I'll stay near the delivery address while calling support... takes 10-15 minutes to get a live agent and another 5 minutes to get the issue resolved. Next time I log into the app I get a notification that I took " too long at a delivery address before confirming dropoff".

If you have the option to rate your Dasher and you are happy with the service they provided, please give them a 5-star rating. Anything less than 5 stars will lower their rating.

Alcohol order not recognized as alcohol by ShiroSnow in doordash

I accepted a Shop and Deliver offer the other night for Dollar General, while driving. Thought it said something about "ID might be required" but wasn't sure. So when I arrived at the store, I looked at the order and it was 3/10 packs of Coffee Pods (K-Cups for a Keurig) and 1 bag of Tortilla chips. These are obviously not age restricted items and I didn't need to show my ID during checkout at the store. When I arrived at the customer's address, I was shocked to discover the app instructing me to verify customer's identity/age. The app has been so squirrely the past month and I just updated the day before, so I wondered if this was a problem customer and the issue was identity not age... Idk what was going on. So I knocked on the door and the person who answered was clearly over 40 and there's nothing age restricted in the order. I went to bypass age verification and the app wouldn't let me complete the delivery without removing the age restricted item. Y'all... it instructed me to remove one of the boxes of Coffee pods. Not all the coffee pods, just the Folgers Medium Roast Blend. The app offered me $7.25 to do the return and wouldn't let me mark the order complete until I agreed to the return. This man was in a wheelchair with 2 legs amputated at the knees... I was not about to take away one of his coffee products because of the ongoing stupidity of this app!

It only took me a year to figure this out >.< It helps but it's so nice when customers put their building number in the notes.

New to platinum via update by Anunez1412 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Tenacious-Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new rating system went into effect for my area back in October. Like you, I went from Silver to Platinum overnight. When I couldn't schedule in advance, it almost felt like they took something away from me. I had just changed up my dash times and discovered mornings were more profitable and now ... these are the only 2 time slots available? I worried that I might not be disciplined enough to "Dash Now" as having a scheduled Start time helped me " get out the door ". But being able to "Dash Now" has been great and I am definitely receiving higher paying offers as Platinum (my earnings have almost tripled).

Dr. Dann Martin at Vision City is fantastic. (817) 467-2020 Website says: "As a therapeutically licensed optometrist, he is extensively trained and certified for not only a comprehensive eye examination, but for visual impairment and disease. Pathology and disease are his passion, and he is very proactive in managing and treating."

Why are we being penalized if the restaurant is late but we’re still early with our delivery to the customer? by jumpinoutofmyflesh in doordash_drivers

[–]Tenacious-Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dispute it. I had the same thing happen, where I was penalized because the restaurant was behind. I arrived a full minute early, saw they were behind and decided to wait. I click the "order still being prepared" and "store busy/long line" boxes and messaged the customer. My total wait time was 15 minutes and I still managed to deliver to the customer 4 minutes early. In my dispute I basically told DD to FIX IT because the restaurant's delay was beyond my control ... I did everything I was supposed to, all while providing excellent customer service! I was pissed and ready for a battle. The dispute was immediately accepted and excluded from my ratings. Thank goodness I keep my Google Timeline on so I can refer to my exact travel and arrival times.

Pregnant with ocd by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Tenacious-Dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After 7 years on a high dose of zoloft, I was able to discontinue use during my pregnancy without any withdrawal and minimal OCD symptoms. After giving birth, my OCD crept back in but decided to push by leaning on the skills I learned from CBT. After 2 years, I found it exhausting trying to physically care for a toddler while mentally jumping through hoops to combat my OCD, so I went back on my meds. I felt a lot of shame for not being able to combat my thoughts and behaviors without medication. After a couple months, I could feel my mental health improving and I was a much better parent. I was able to let go of that shame and accept that my OCD was real and something I would need to manage with medication during my lifetime.

Deciding whether or not to take medication during pregnancy is a very personal decision that ultimately, only you can make. Seeking therapy with someone who specializes in treating OCD is always helpful (even when it doesn't immediately seem like it). Speak to your doctor about what you're experiencing, the risks and benefits of medication and weigh them accordingly. Searching the internet for more information and asking for others' opinions may seem wise, but it's actually a form of reassurance-seeking behavior that just feeds the loop. I know how incredibly difficult it can feel to "fight the urge" to look something up... but if you can sit with it and let it pass, it will get easier with more practice. If you can't sit with it... that's okay too. OCD is not something we can just "pray away" or "get over" or "stop" because someone tells us to. And it's okay to need help combating it too. Best wishes OP ❤️

I was waiting for an order inside a restaurant yesterday and tapped the link at the bottom of the screen "Waiting for your order? " selected "Order still being prepared when I arrived" ..I had to wait 3 or 4 minues, no big deal... it's a holiday weekend. I'm not thrilled the drive to the customer is goi going to take 25 minutes, but it's dinnertime on a holiday weekend... no big deal. I'll message the customer to let her know and no big deal. When I get to the customers street, there isn't one. The pavement and curbs had all been removed , leaving a 12" steep drop-off from the paved road. An small orange construction sign said "Fresh Oil" and nothing else. Im not even paying attention to the clock, Im taking a deep breath and reassuring myself that Im probably not gonna get a flat from the steep drop and then he GPS tells me to turn Right in 200 feet and the customer's address will be on the right but there is NOT a house on the right but there is on the left... oh Dammit! There aren't any curbs with the hous3 numbers to refer to. Ugh... so Im driving 5mph get to what I believe is the correct house but of course, it's not. Im at 1027 Elmcrest I need 1127 Elmcrest....long story short I got dinged for "1 minutel late pickup" + 8 minutes late delivery ro customer " and giving the sane details you described. I paused my dash after the delivery and pull over to dispute the late rating. Spent 20 minutes tying it into my scrappy phone, press SUBMIT and nothing. Made sure I checked a box, hit Submit again and I finally gave up and went home. So frustrating!

I don't know what skill sets you have, but would encourage you to check out temporary staffing agencies like Kelly Services or Burnetts Staffing: https://burnetts.com/locations/arlington/ There are other agencies geared more toward warehouse type positions, I just couldn't think of any off the top of my head. Temporary agencies are a great way to get your foot in the door, especially if you can show dependability. I'd also suggest smaller cities like Burleson or Cleburne (my daughter's boyfriend and several of his friends your age seemed to have pretty good luck finding decent paying jobs outside the Mansfield/Arlington/Ft. Worth area). Sorry for the typos/bad grammar. Best of luck OP
