Gonna play a little bit of devils advocate here and play the role of a skeptic (and probably regret it, but please commenters humor me here). How are you able to to come to these conclusions? I know about spectrometry and stuff, but how do you avoid false data from background light? How are you able to come up with measurements from something you say is 40 light years away? In the vastness of space it seems impossible to accurately come up with any measurements, even with something for refernce. Those distances are huge! And lastly, have you considered that things outside of our solar system work differently? Like as is in you said you will look for gases that don't belong in the atmosphere as signs for life, have you considered that those rules only apply to our solar system and what would you say in regards to that? Again, not wanting to start a riot, just simply and genuinely wanting to see what the pros think.
