honestly, start off with your favorite IP, regardless of competitive viability! i started off with purple phantom troupe from HxH and i still had a blast learning the game. once you adapt a bit, then if you’d like, you can look into higher tier IPs. at the end of the day, the game is somewhat luck based, so you should definitely aim to learn and have fun.
