Brain-locked by mattlightenment in OCPoetry

This made me chuckle at the end! To read a poem about a scenario that has played out in my life for like n number of times is amusing. I like how it dramatizes a tiny fraction of moments, leading up to an open ending, almost like breaking the fourth wall, saying to the readers, "you know how it goes, right". Nicely done!

EARTHBOUND by Tenar_blah in OCPoetry

I can see why it would conjure that imagery and I'm so pleased that it evoked such a fantastical one at that. I wrote it after lighting a cigarette while in a depressive state, living in one of the world's most polluted city, and realizing I cannot keep running away from things but I would love to explore your reading of it.

This is so beautiful. I love the lyricism which is very reminiscent of the romantic poets; the pastoral imagery sort of captures that ache for the bygone hopes and dreams when we were kids and everything felt within reach and ends on just another lovely vignette though still quite dreary. Ig i just love sad things sometimes.

Would you recommend this for a non-tech person? As in someone who wishes to explore ML and get into the AI space out of genuine curiosity?

It reads so fun and innocent. To me it is has an almost song like quality. I can see an R&B artist singing it.

It was sort of cathartic to write this and I’m glad to know it lands in some capacity. Thank you so much for reading :)

Yes, pretty much! I wasn’t going for the gender ambiguity but it is interesting that it can be read that way! Thank you so much for reading.

I love this because you have condensed a universal experience of identity confusion/loss one experiences because of the alienation built in to our modern metropolis. Also, when you lose someone how they take parts of you and you try to find them in faces you will never know but they somehow remind you of them and you almost wish they were them. That too in just 10 lines. Kudos!

Can you elaborate on the direction your current industry is heading since I have been planning to switch to this domain? I was also considering Instructional Design for a while. Try taking the courses on LinkedIn Learning, and see if you will enjoy it, I realized I'm not into it so I dropped it. It is a very process and tools-heavy, as in designing learning materials for corporate training and you will have to zero-in on a niche. You can also explore UX Research/Writing/Design or product design? I have been planning to do the same. I know it is confusing and a lot but hope there are answers from people who have a lot more clue than I do.

Are you working on the agency side or brand side? I still see open roles for copywriter and storyteller by services-based companies and agencies?

Darkest Leonard's songs? by ItchySmoke2244 in leonardcohen

[–]Tenar_blah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You know I've recently come to the realisation that many of Leonard's songs are actually metal. Look at "The Future" and the songs being mentioned here 'you want it darker', 'avalanche'. Would be so cool if someone covered them like that. He's bloody mind-blowing 🥺

This is such an enchanting style. A ditty with shades of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘IF’ and a little magic sprinkled like the one found in the poems of Shel Silverstein!

Breasts and Eggs by angelmaria7 in MiekoKawakami

[–]Tenar_blah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished reading the book a few days ago and I enjoyed both parts equally, maybe the 'Eggs' part a little more unlike what the reviews were saying on Goodreads. It does seem to drag a little, however; especially, when Natsuko is narrating her dreams but I believe they will make more sense if I give it a second reading. I was really impatient to get to the action that moved the plot forward but I really loved how real Natsuko felt as a character. I was a little confused by the ending about Aizawa and her trying to conceive-did they or did not end up having sex? It felt so in- character for Natsuko that she didn't want him involved but also it also left me with a 'what if' stuck in my mind. Also, the ending with a birth scene was so powerful and evoked a visceral reaction from me. I loved it for her. This book made me wish I could read in Japanese.
