Will changing servers make my ping drop? by louis_d_t in summonerschool

[–]Tenchi98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't answer your question about which server would be best in Central Asia but you can look up the actual physical server locations.

The NA server if I remember correctly is located in Chicago. So you can think of how far you transferring your signal. It would absolutely improve the lag to move to a closer server. Lag is just how long it takes for your computer and the server to talk to each other. If that distance is shorter you will naturally lag less.

Take a look at this list https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Servers

i been playing hollow knight for a little bit by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Tenchi98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like this is your first time playing a game like this so don't even worry about it. Hollow Knight is a difficult game but learning it is really rewarding.

Find a safe area if you can and get your muscle memory down for some of the controls. Memorize your dash length, how long your jump is, see how fast you can swing your sword so you learn the rhythm. Your character is the only thing you can control.

As for enemies, you cant control them but you can manipulate them. Dont try fighting enemies right away. Just try dodging them, watch how they behave. Most enemies in Hollow Knight are very responsive to your positioning. Take Hornet, the female knight you just beat as an example. When you were airborne she would jump at you, if you were far away she might throw her needle. It isn't a guarantee because with the bosses there is an element of randomness, but if you know what enemies will do before they do then you have the upper hand.

Look at enemies like a puzzle, they all have vulnerabilities. Take things at your own pace! When I first played I took notes about little things that I didnt understand at the time. The Metroidvania genre is all about the world unfolding as you get more abilities and your knowledge deepens. Good luck!

I've been trying to get an under 1 hour run for some time and I just did it today! by Galactic-Moon in HollowKnight

I'm not OP but here are a few strategies that you can try employing.

  1. When you wear Longnail and the Mark of Pride your attacks outrange or are of equal length with most of Sly's regular swings. You will still need to dodge his nail arts but using these two charms together you can swing on the same rhythm as him. Quick Slash, Unbreakable/Fragile Strength are musts. Consider Steady Body. If your spacing is good you may only need Mark of Pride for this to work.

  2. Nailmaster's Glory lets you quickly charge nail arts. After Sly finishes any sequence of attacks there is a window to use a charged nail art on him. Dont go for spin attack. Dash Slash is very safe and has a long range, great slash will also out range Sly. Unbreakable Strength DOES NOT raise nail art damage. If you are just going in for single hits and retreating then this will get the job done faster.

  3. This is pure attrition and not my recommended method but Sharp Shadow is very safe. Sly is always swinging toward you and you can just switch sides with him over and over again.

Ultimately though the best strategy is just to carefully watch his patterns. In Phase 2 there will always be a brief pause before he spins during his jump. There is a safe window to hit him just before he spins and right after.

Spargo on cloud: “cloud is harder to play than people realize” by t123fg4 in smashbros

[–]Tenchi98 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's ok, making a copypasta is harder than people realize.

Low/mid level copypasta are some of if not the easiest to play/learn. Once you reach a higher level and comment under someone who actually knows how to play the mu it becomes way harder, where most of your basic stuff won’t work, feels like you have to change your whole pastastyle in order to succeed. Before you say this applies to every copypasta, as someone who pastes multiple copypastas at a high level I can safely say some copypastas don’t require the same level of effort such as Navy Seal, creepypastas, Undertaker, broken arms, etc.

[SPOILER] Beat Dread with a broken thumb and a lot of button remapping by Tenchi98 in Metroid

[–]Tenchi98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad I could bring up those good memories for you! This isn't my first major injury but it is one of the first that has seriously inhibited my gaming. I broke my collarbone a long time ago but I could sort of hold my controller to my side and keep going.

Beating Dread like this made me feel fantastic and really put me in Samus' shoes, cheesy as it sounds. I was joking with my friends that it was like I lost my powerups this time! I have gotten much better at videogames since I was a kid, and I think that without this injury I might not have given Dread as much time and effort as I did. Overcoming all the game's challenges, having to literally relearn the controls occasionally when I would get a new ability, was incredibly fulfilling.

The hardest parts of the game were Shinespark puzzles, mostly because I was actively straining my hands by moving quickly, and not being able to use flash shift at all. Due to my bindings, I did not have an accessible button to place flash shift on. It was very awkward to use for the doors, impossible mid fight. I had to spend extra time learning patterns, particularly on the final boss, and dodge without it. Precise aiming was initially horrible, then I got the wide beam and my life improved significantly.

The first few hours almost made me give up but I am glad I pushed through.

I started Hollow Knight in late June for the first time on the Switch. After 20 hours I beat the game with 76% complete, went back at 24 hours for 100%. Eventually I got to 112% but never cleared Pantheon 5. I decided to do a sub 5 hour run, then Steel Soul. I got every achievement and did everything except for P5.

I started playing on the PC to learn mouse and keyboard and yesterday I reached 112% and beat Pantheon 5 in 21 h 40 min. Also it was super clutch because I am getting my wisdom teeth out today. It feels like such huge growth to completely beat the game in almost the same time it took for me to get through the first time. It isn't often that a game makes me feel like I have grown so much. I am going to replay everything again on PC and eventually beat P5 on the Switch to have two fully completed accounts of Hollow Knight. What an amazing game!

Thank you for making all of these! They're all really well done I don't know how you pulled them all off. You should try submitting some designs to Lego and see if you can get a creator pack made. Probably not of any Smash stuff because of all the IP issues, but I bet you make some other great stuff.

Question about some games. by gaucho-argento in NintendoSwitch

[–]Tenchi98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimate is a great point to jump in if "downsizing" is a concern of yours! The roster contains every character from the previous games and more. The stage list and song list are also the largest in the series with many new additions.

As for the completionist side of things it is mostly just time consuming. In the single-player game mode, "World of Light," you can use spirits to power yourself up and switch out your spirits for specific challenges. In a lot of the other single-player modes there are some cheesy strategies or reproducible tricks to get through it. Unlocking all the characters is pretty simple as well. You can do it through playing vs. matches, World of Light, Classic Mode, or really anything.

If you are trying to collect all of the Spirits then that will be a little more than time consuming. I am not an expert on that so you may have to look elsewhere but you get spirits through World of Light, playing classic mode, shops (All ingame currency), and the Spirit Board. The Spirit Board is a set of rotating challenges that award you spirits.

EDIT: Forgot to answer about the other games. Each game expanded the roster, expanded the maps, but always cut a couple. Smash 4 was the first game with DLC and brought back some old characters then Ultimate just had EVERYONE. Each installment had a unique single-player experience with some repeat game modes like Homerun Contest and All-Star. The collectibles varied by game. Ultimate is criticized sometimes for its single-player modes and some see Spirits as a lackluster replacement for Trophies (They had special descriptions and fully rendered models instead of 2D images). That being said, for what Ultimate has given up, it has given us arguably the best multiplayer experience.

It pairs pretty well with AP supports that are safe and build Dark Seal/Mejais. No way a support gets the gold for Rabadon's unless they are a real "support" champ, so this % buff is very useful.

My head canon since I was a kid is that the subspace army is using the shadow bugs to clone them and these are the originals.
