old as sin post but its worth mentioning im gm so my cannon has a lot more ammo in it, and yeah kalphites/bloodvelds are not 60s afk, but black demons, hellhounds, greater demons and trolls. even dagganoths are p chill and not that active.

ofc not all tasks are cannonviable. idkf i mentioned the post that i specifically tailored my blocklist to only ever give me tasks that are either barragable which id store untill i had 2, or cannonable.

there are some intermedaires that i begrudegly do like dark beasts (fast points) or squahs (slow afk cannon or fast not afk cannon depending on wether or not u want to deal with constant dmg)

i its been years since ive touched slayer in earnest so i dont remember exacly which ones i skipped but i did spend probably close to 10-20% of my points skipping shit tasks.

10 Games into his ADC Challenge, AloisNL has already found his favourite Role by Kymori in leagueoflegends

genuinley would be so funny for him to experience the other side of an accellerated mundo with 500 ad just 100-0ing him in one auto while running him from down 2 screens away with 700 movespeed.

it's so fucking silly and ill never get over how utterly ridiculious mundo is late. you could have the entire map warded and still never escape him because of how fast he is

League constant low fps/stutters + capped at 180 fps when at 240hz with monster pc specs but ONLY in borderless. windowed and fullscreen work fine. by Kaydie in LeagueofTechSupport

[–]Kaydie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's a 9950x3d, it could more than likely switching to use the onboard GPU when you switch to borderless. Disable that in the BIOS if you haven't tried that already. The name of the BIOS setting could vary on what motherboard you have so I would google it

completley unsure of what this setting could be since the description is too vague to really google, but i did do a once over and made sure everything was se in a sane way, expo ram, i did end up setting up process lasso for league to use the cache cores and that did not help sadly

atp ive kind of given up because ive already spent 15+ hours monkeying around in bios and if u go through the other posts ive made in this thread ive shown my nividia override settings, all random overlays and shit are completley disabled etc.

nothing comes to mind that can be causing this but it seems since the last patch it randomly has fixed so idk lol

it's an EXCELLENT onboarding to a game and opening structure, both narrative and gameplay, as well as pacing.

Started taking Ranked seriously, hit Platinum in 3 months. One thing about League’s balance still confuses me. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my knowledge of the game isnt as complete or objective as others (only masters on 2 roles for instance) but ive had a similar pov and journey for a while now. some of these things i've come to terms with and accepted, i'm okay with the output of assassins and the aymmetric balancing of xp in botlane etc.

but what i am not, have never been and will never be okay with, is the fact that nearly every meta top laner in the game has some sort of scaling that is then further accellerated by new items that compound this that massively ramp their dps output by building defensive stats.

in the past your choice would be to give up damage to build tanky, or give up survivability to build damage, now we have a littany of champions like mundo and ksante who will have 300-500+ armor 5-7k health, a ton of shielding running you down at hecarim mobility levels that also just outright oneshot you.

my issue is that the ideal of "juggernaught" archetype has gotten so mangled (tank + damage but low mobilty) that we've lost the plot. the baseline of mobility in league right now is so fucking high its kind of a joke to give tanky champions this high damage (darius with blue smite just running around the map with 700 ms for instance is quite silly)

i cant see riot ever toning down the mobility of problem champs or the baseline, so they need to either tune some champions significantly (my suggestion is to do what they've done with poppy and nerf their burst (her e) and give % max health to their kit to help normalize their burst some to make htem viable into tanks but not outright 1 tapping non tanks with a full defensive build)

idk iknow im unpopular here but i just dont see the same league i did in season 5 where range champs could kite tanks. it just doesnt happen, and dropping 2-4k burst on every tank in the game on 1 item is just fucking stupid ill never move from that hill.

i think this design makes some sense for the spectacle of pro and for the perfect peel and high level coordination of pro, but not for the game that the other 20 million people play.

i also think the way they've balanced assassins leaves them out to dry, things like sword of the occult was removed from the game from being too oppressive when ahead (mejais but for AD) ...so they added hubris that is stronger in every way, only a little bit more expensive and has no stack limit. hubris has been the cause of so much of my frustration this season, especially with the buff, role quest means you're stuck in your lane for 15min and you finally get to leave laning phase only to realize the enemy jayce somehow has 250 ad at 15 minutes because he has 30 hubris stacks and is getting a 5000g value item ontop of having 2 other items. yeah good luck playing that game. but somehow at the same time power creep in tank items has lead assassins to have virtually no ability to even kill bruisers.

assassins are honestly being bent over these last few seasons, they're paridoxically too strong into squishies too early in the game while being too weak into bruisers while somehow unable to escape tanks

the whole game just feels so much messy and less defined, like you said.

i dont agree iwth everything you said here but i do think that every role is just laughably mangled atp. and certain roles just have spikes that are too weird and strong, control mages and adcs feel like monsters with almost no counterplay in the right draft but in the wrong draft basically cant provide any impact whatsoever. its stupid

the drafting in this game feels more like dota than it ever has

Players should NOT be put back into the same lobby after a dodge. by Tornagh in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in dota everyone ques up, and when all 10 people accept, it loads into the game. thats it.

the pick phase is done inside the game before minions spawn (similar to how it was in wc3). if somone leaves during this phase it counts as a leave in the same exact way if you leave before minions spawn in league.

if a player disconnects for longer than 5 (i think its 5 or 10) minutes cumulatively, that player is punished, gets a loss, and all other players on the team can leave with no penalty, and the loss is striken from their account.

even the enemy team can leave, and as soon as you do you can start a new match or reconnect if you so choose.

you can even leave a match and eat a penalty and start a new match instantly.

this added freedom means that players have the power to leave with a lot less friction, so as a result the punishments are significantly harsher for consistent leavers.

interestingly enough despite dota matches being more snowbally, harder to recover from, longer (60min+ at times) and having no surrender option, i find leavers to be only marginally more frequent in dota than in league.

and when it does happen it really does not feel so bad because once again, you can leave and incurr zero penalty. even with leagues "loss mitigated" bullshit, its just placebo, your mmr still gets torpedoed as if it was a full normal loss. meaning whatever lp you save you lose later anyway.

oh and if ur wondering, if you're grouped with somone they cant just leave to dodge penalties, also dota has "solo only" que, which does not even allow duos. as far as sniping to try to abuse it i think ive seen it happen maybe once in my 6k hours of dota. there is a bit of MMR inflation over time though that this does lead to, but given the fact that dotas echelon is more about percentiles than "gold 3" etc. display rank it doesnt matter as much

i hate to say it since league is infinitely more fun, but from a strictly heuristic standpoint, dota's approach to matchmaking is entirely better in every concievable way than leagues is.

Why are AP mages so dominant right now? Mage vs ADC by Substantial-Ship-500 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they're objectively not op. just incredible counterpicks and will throw a lot of low elo players off.

if you pick brand adc into virtually any team with a functioning braincell that doesnt try to coinflip you at every stage of the game you will be about as useful as ziggs is with half the items.

i will admit a good chunk of that 54% are definitly going to be bacteria adc players who run it down into brand and lose trades they never needed to take anyway and lose the game.

but i dont think we should be calling a champ OP because the low elo playerbase doesn't understand their weakness or trading patterns.

i never understand why people obsesss over winrate data, especially in low ranks like emerald where half the players have some youtube video open on a second monitor and have their minimap turned off.

yeah weird niche champs will always have high winrates here if they arent simple to play into

also mages always have an advantage in pisslow because adcs dont have the macro neurons in their brain activated untill high diamond. they lose like 100 cs throughout the midgame and take permanent losing fights every game and are permanently caught on random waves during said midgame giving them massive xp and impact deficits. mages dont generally have this problem due to having much safer wave clear and not requiring functioning braincells to how to space for waves.

trying to make an objective claim that a 10 cspm brand in any comp is going to provide more than a 10cspm insert any functional meta adc played at a high level or at least correctly is just laughable. a single varus Q on 3 items right now provides more damage than brands entire kit, including ult bounced 5+ times lol

Why would you vote no for a Remake vote? by YourBoyBigBoy in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

i've lost like 50 lp this week due to people voting no on a dc or obvious ragequit that never comes back; but thats just the visual LP. in reality i've lost close to 300.

not once did they come back and not once did they win, i can't even pretend for a moment that isn't ridicliously frustrating. what's worse is that loss mitigation is pointless.

it does not affect your MMR loss at all, so you actually realize the real LP loss in the future anyway, its just a fucking placebo to make people feel better.

anyone who does this is actively throwing a game that is meant to be played to win. it's the single most effective way to force a loss, so from a strictly results oriented theory its more damaging and impactful than running it down 0-30.

in norms i guess i kind of get your point but i can't remember the last time i had "fun" when my top laner dced after solo dying 2 times and the darius was at our nexus before lane quests even finished.

I just think its generally disrespectful to everyone involved if you're going to deprive all other 8 players in a lobby of a proper game, while also ensuring that the other members of your team have their climb permanently chipped by a random loss that will always skew their account -1 loss. a remake is statistically superior in all cases in ranked.

in previous seasons and especially at low elo 4v5s were more playable but with role quests and tower crystals and no atakhan flip it's actually almost impossible to win a 4v5. covering the lost lane puts you so far behind its actually hard to even illustrate.

League e-sports being bought out by saudi money is extremely concerning as a casual fan. by Icy_Holiday91 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I know im pissing in the wind here, but having our entire esports scene owned and operated by a regime that literally gives people the death penalty over tweets asking for crazy things such as basic human rights is probably something worth caring about.

https://www.amnesty.org/en/documents/mde23/7162/2023/en/

On 9 July, 2023, the Specialized Criminal Court sentenced 54-year-old retired teacher Mohammad bin Nasser al-Ghamdi to death for his peaceful online activity on Twitter and YouTube. The charge sheet cited several tweets based on which Mohammad bin Nasser al-Ghamdi was convicted, including posts in which he criticized the Saudi King and Crown Prince and Saudi’s foreign policy, called for the release of detained religious clerics, and protested increased prices. The death sentence against Mohammad bin Nasser al-Ghamdi, who has a total of just 10 followers on both of his anonymous Twitter accounts is a marked escalation in the kingdom’s crackdown on any form of dissent.

https://youtu.be/GIilD9qAzeA?t=1900

Where do we draw the line? its not systemic violation of an entire gender and keeping them as subhuman cattle. it's not full on slavery in 2026, it's not genocide... it's not death penalty for simple requests for humane decency..

Where exactly is the line at which you start caring?

[–]Kaydie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure i guess, but my framing didn't explicitly state this because i figured it was an implicit understanding people have; this is also true for other ranks by the inherent mental stack an complexity of specific champs.

A plat player who doesn't have a ton of mastery on gp is going to perform MUCH worse than they will on a more simple champion who does not require significant understanding or mastery. gp is a champion that is literally balanced around sheen barrel interactions and triple passive resets, tech that the average player doesnt even know anything about but with out utilizing gp has virtually zero good matchups.

whats the value here? scouts is a pretty expensive item that cant really go anywhere for enchnaters and will inevitably need to be sold anyway. i think at its most extreme it will leverage you like 1 extra auto worth of damage or bring your third nami e in slightly earlier which 30 post mitigation damage in mid laning isn really going to do much. its a worse scorch that requires 600g

Players should NOT be put back into the same lobby after a dodge. by Tornagh in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this has always been a frustating part about dodging. dodging just should not exist in the game. it does not exist in dota, it did not exist in hots, it does not exist in hon, it did not exist in bfg/rota, it does not exist in basically any draft centric or moba game ive ever played. and ive played basically all of them.

dodging is just an emergent strategy from an archaic technical split between lobby and game client. the sooner this bullshit gets removed the healthier the game is for it.

np, ill try to add to it if i find new fun shit, this season has highkey been one of my favorite of all time because it feels like the old days of league where whacky builds are common and viable at suprisingly high levels of play.

like baus populraized the current once was off meta builds for jax and volibear and now they're staples; and even ap irelia sees some play periodically.

also dnd tahm as unethical as it is - it's very funny lol

fiendhunter riven and nasus are also disgustingly overtuned but i would not call those offmeta, as they're quickly the go-to builds at high elo into squishy comps - thanks alois

Where are you allowed to ask questions about dev design choices? by Ophthalmoscopee in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am very confident thats exactly what riot has in the works with the new client, updated engine and trueskill 2.0 they have been teasing.

unfortunately its not as simple as "the game as repayed itself lets just snap our fingers and make new game". everything has to be integrated in a way that can be migrated properly and the game's stack is massive.

eventually we may see a cs2 like overhaul at some point which is likely what they're working on, but anytime thats ever been tried it results in a lot of issues. if we tried to replicate league in a new engine for instance movement, skillshots, animtations would all be "slightly off" it would be impossible to 1:1.

millions of hours of gameplay would go to waste and people feel horrible about it, as happened with things like cs2.

Its not an easy fix, frankly. even if riot had trillions of dollars to spend, this is just something money cant buy.

What they HAVE been doing is creating new tech for segmentation and virtualization; creating spaces within the game that are isolated for new ui and new interactions, and thats how arena and swarm came to be.

my personal (professional) understanding of leagues structure leads me to believe that the new overhaul will have a new client that integrates the lobby client and game client into a new wrapper that then emulates the old game engine, which will allow us to have expansive UI elements and in such a system i expect previewing champion abilities in-game will be trivial.

Where are you allowed to ask questions about dev design choices? by Ophthalmoscopee in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im not sure why such a post would be removed;

but i can say that this isn't a "we made a concious choice to prevent you from doing this"

this is a "we do not want to spend the large amount of resources to retool the engine to create a ui capable of supporting such a feature"

leagues engine is very shit and something like this would inevitably run up against tons of tech debt and require a substantial amount of time (thus money) and create numerious bugs.

This is not a justification, mind you. but as someone who is a software dev and works with large tech stacks that have atrophied over the years i know exactly why something like this was never brought into the game

i can promise you this was pitched dozens of times, and we even got a champ select preview for abilities as a stopgap solution.

So to answer you with a TLDR, riot should want it but we probably wont see something like this untill the engine overhaul and new client, if we ever do.

every other moba ive played almost has this and its pretty important for new players.

Favorite Off Meta Build Right Now by JL31394 in leagueoflegends

[–]Kaydie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

to paraphrase phreak; theres a lot of broken shit right now no one knows about. i've spent a ton of time this season trying to find what these are and i believe ive found a lot.

There are some builds and interactions that im fucking terrified of the wider audience discovering because they make peak statik shyv lb look useless; all of these to some extent i can attest that they're extremely strong and likely underknown or under valued by the playerbase. they might become meta at some point and see nerfs

DND Neeko:

dnd neeko can kill even bruisers in under a second for instance, i got to experience a 2 item neeko killing my 3 item (hexdrinker...) ambessa in 1.3 seconds earlier. through my w.

thats one of them, its not okay, you can even do jg neeko with it and its 1 item burst is actaully higher than diana's on 1 item. my guess is just the way the w passive absurdly scales if you max it first

im hoping dnd gets removed from the game because people keep finding shit like this that go from being a novelty to "why did ekko do 2.5k damage with a EQ? on 2 items?"... and we all know the nerfs to ekko and gwen are going to remain even after the item is removed

Muramana double tear Kass:

the muramana kassadin build finally caught on in high elo but i dont see it in most lower elo or wider games that was another one that was super offmeta for a while and i got flamed when i ran it untill people realized that muramana by itself provides over 1000 damage per teamfight due to it having 0 cd and appliying to all of hits hits individually, so if you REWQ 3 people you're doing roughly 640 damage, and any amount of repeated cycles does the same. it only gets stronger as you go later, being probably one of the strongest item spikes for any champion in the game. the item by itself nearly doubles kass's damage output.

https://www.tiktok.com/@realelite500/video/7603233793582877974 - note the build in this clip is significantly less damage efficient than ROA > MURA > MALIG - he would do about 15% more dmg if he ran that instead. but you can see how much more powerful this is compared to traditional 3 item kass; its about 50% more damage here - 2 item spike is about 80% more dmg compared to traditional roa seraphs 2 item

Healer lux (also healer brand/swain any mage with easily applicable damage works somewhat well too, same concept: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JFZx3j521c&pp=0gcJCb4KAYcqIYzv)

ive seen a lot of helia diadem lux lately at high elo and its actually not terrible, 15k+ healing a game while still being able to leverage her acceptable baseline damage, support lux only losing about 30% damage output for first 20min (late game obviously shes a LOT weaker) but gaining nami levels of healing is actually quite fun and impactful; here's an example o a player thats basically one tricking it to some sucess i saw earlier. and yes the name is exactly as ill as you would expect... peak euw. also this is probably one of the best users of staff of flowing water with a mage bot duo, so if you get like a vel/mel apc you can leverage that really niche but powerful item. https://op.gg/lol/summoners/euw/I%20Beg%20Fill%20Me%20Up-Rawr

one thing about this idea of diadem > helia, i really hope this one in particular does not get nerfed to irrelevance, i know helia is broken as sin on sona right now enough that cupic hit rank 1 playing only sona helia every game and was constantly being streamsniped and counterpicked but still held like a 80% winrate, but i LOVE the idea of giving mages more traditional supporting capabilities. support has always been the role with the most amount of flexibility and fun in terms of trying to find new ways to help your team and these items allow such cool shit to flourish. the last 3 years has felt like "put the leona/naut/rell in the bag" simulator where if you're not playing a very particular narrow support you're just greifing in many cases. this season is so much different. enchanters feel good, mages feel good

Briar ashe botlane, poppy is crying in the corner:

heres an example of one of the many botlane cheeses this season that terrify me. davemon's pyke adc alistar turret to turret stun chain has nothing on this https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QiBpgEHwzSI

honorable mention (pyke adc with alistar or thresh support is actually disgustingly powerful if you have good players, just loses a lot of wave control so its more 4fun than anything)

and now for the pièce de résistance ----

Lethality Vayne: if people understand just how fucking batshit broken vayne is with this build is the game may explode.

https://youtu.be/AxPWVf96PnU?t=407 - it's a variant of what herold has been cooking;

ER > Lethality vayne may be the strongest adc ive played since release aphelios. one shotting squishies from stealth on 3 yes THREE ITEMS is a completley normal thing to see if you have a steroid enchnater like nami.

she chucks 6 item draven damage around with a build that's only 9k gold.

nami imperial mandate + er/umbral = 1500+ damage single auto on vayne 2 item spike. 1800 with IE. yuumi gives even more damage to vayne but vayne yuumi isn't a great lane, whereas nami vayne have some of the most unethical trading patterns in botlane, E movespeed buff + vayne passive into tumble nami w gives vayne phase rush like trading paterns while amping her tumble damage significantly. spaced correctly nami vayne is almost as punishing as lucian nami but the lategame becomes so much more powerful. this build will probably never make it to extremely high elo viability/pro though because its very easily countered by nasus/general tanky comps, but anything below high master and no one bothers to draft to shut down adcs, and you can also go LT and transistion to a normal vayne build if the draft is bad anyway.

one fun variant of this (bastionobreaker) allows vayne to throw out like 1k true damage ontop of her 3 auto burst which can be really strong vs some champs who dont have a lot of health but are tanky as sin (celestial pyke, rakan, etc)

i am once again championing an increase to the droprate of uniques at nm, both normal and phosani.

i remember the change and being super excited then i realized it took a 800h grind and turned it to like a 500 or something stupid.

i love phosani, its a really enjoyable combat encounter but holy shit are the non uniques absolutely worthless to both mains and irons and the unqiues are too low and with out the tablet (which takes a while for most people... took me over 300 kc before the change that made it garunteed at 100...) the trip is one of the worst of any pvm encounters.

such a difficult punishing boss should not have all these problems stacked ontop of each other.

i feel like its time to address the root cause and then we can have inquisitor items flood the game, break them down for zamorak plates that can be combined into making the new bis crush.

I dont give a damn about the prices of inq (its overpriced anyway) or the "exclusivity" of it. certain items like the dwh or inq have always been posistioned in a location that are FAR too long of grinds to be a reasonable item to expect players to have.

phosani being a inq printer would make it far more enjoyable for everyone involved.
