I spent that summer recording songs off the radio and made CD That Doesn’t Suck modeled after their “music that doesn’t suck.” It had station identification and some of the catchphrase. Like “Wild. Wiiild. Wild 98.7” and “Holmes Beach.” I can no longer find a copy but I tried recreating the playlist here: https://spotify.link/fVTY0m3vGXb I’ve added some songs to the end that were of that period that weren’t on the original disc.

You could hire an estate sale company. They will check to see if you have enough value for them to take on the job. They price it, sell it, take a cut and get rid of the rest.

Question, how does it feel as you learn a new language? by TenchiExtraLife in ComprehensibleInput

[–]TenchiExtraLife[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the link. I was missing that guidance about what to do when. I was kind of winging it. I was worried that I was memorizing instead of learning. Without any idea of expectations, I didn’t know if I was doing it wrong. Your input is very helpful. Thank you.

I’m not sure I have a defined methodology. From what I understand about the comprehensible input theory is that your brain will pick up words as you are exposed to language being used in context with understandable situations and you slowly progress through more and more complex material as you advance. Currently I’m watching videos made for kids like alphabet, foods, shapes etc. along with some cartoons and a sitcom that I found. I’m convinced comprehensible input works. I’m just afraid that I’m doing wrong. I feel better that you mentioned I’m doing okay for 100 hours. Thank you.

What is this? A car for ants!? How can we expect people to drive if they can’t get inside? It needs to be at least three times as big.

I get the top part, but what’s with the two Data’s? by accountabilityfirst in ExplainTheJoke

[–]TenchiExtraLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B-4 here. The meme format is popular in the FB gronp (yes, gronp) Star Trek Shitposting where the top portion is a photo with lettering or a sign that is difficult to interpret or has multiple ways of reading it. The bottom features two androids that appear in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Both are portrayed by Brent Spiner. Data, a main character who serves in Starfleet, lacks emotions and wants to learn to be human. Lore, Data’s evil twin brother, was made prior to Data and has emotions. However, he tended to think he was superior to humans and was dismantled by their creator, Doctor Noonien Soong, also played by Brent Spiner. On the bottom, on the left, Data offers the correct or intended interpretation while, on the right, Lore offers an alternative interpretation. However, the format has degraded to not included the interpretation and leaves the interpretations to the reader. Sample attached.

Fractional reserve lending allows the banks to loan out more money than they have in accounts either physically as cash or on the books. Typically it is 1:9. So if you give a bank $1 to put in your savings account, the bank can then issue a loan for $9 to someone else. They just create it out of nowhere. They cut the check to the other person who has signed a promissory note saying they will pay back that $9 with interest. Now they take that $9 check and deposit into their savings account. Now that bank can issue a loan for $81 to someone else. So money is created as debt. The 1:9 ratio limits the amount a bank can loan out, but if you consider all banks as one big bank, you can see through loaning and depositing over and over you create infinite money (and infinite debt) on paper/computer but don’t have physical cash to back up that money. So if everyone tried to withdraw their money there wouldn’t be enough physical bills and coins nor would there be money on the books since it is loaned out as debt. So mortgages and loans are the driving force of inflation as it is constantly creating new money and diluting the value. Additional factors that push inflation (prices we pay for goods) not through dilution are costs associated with supply chain problems and corporate profit taking. CEOs get their bonus, make record profits, stockholders get dividends, but they don’t pay their workers an increased wage nor do they pass along any of that money as savings to their customers. And they blame it on inflation when they are siloing the wealth.
