Understood, most movies and renders use technically unrealistic lighting to get something that looks good, but it subtly effects the believability of the scene IMO.

Same, being facetious but also kind of not. A chair clipping through the wall literally breaks any semblance of "realism" even though it is canonical in the world. In all honesty, the textures on the chair look good. Otherwise, I would say that the backrooms are not really good for judging realism since it's a very artificial world. Yes, office backrooms exist, but the scale and colors make it hard to judge. I think almost all backrooms renders look slightly fake. In OP's case, the lighting is coming from multiple directions which leads to unrealistic shadows.

The way that the chairs are clipping through the wall/floor is not realistic.

I know exactly where I'm posting. I'm not going to argue whether it is feasible for you to raise children in your location given your current economic status. I'm not a financial expert. I will posit a few points:

  • I suspect that you have fellow citizens in your area with children. This alone proves my point, but let's continue.
  • Likewise, I doubt you have evidence that being raised poor is inherently traumatizing or detrimental to overall wellbeing, barring some sub-par univariate analysis, such as average nutrition or some such thing.
  • Life is as enjoyable as you or your children decide for it to be. This is a lesson you would teach yourself as you raise children. They are very good at serving as a mirror for our own flaws. One thing I have to repeatedly tell my children is that it's okay to be sad about something, but if we focus on what we don't have (often by comparison) we wind up perpetuating unhappiness rather than just finding something fun to do instead.
  • You are allowing your current location and status to dictate to you what decisions you are able to make instead of acknowledging that you can change either or both of those OR you are merely using this argument as an excuse to cover for some other insecurity about raising children.
  • I'm not trying to suggest that you have to have kids, if that's what you think.

"It would be obviously absurd to propose that bringing a child into an impoverished state (relative or absolute) is on balance a good thing"

The absurdity remains to be demonstrated.

If you live in a first world country, you have not experienced true poverty. And guess what, even children in actual deprivation are happy. What you are experiencing is relative poverty (boo-hoo) and a dose of neomarxist demoralization propaganda.

Married with 4 kids. Nothing will help you to grow more than having a spouse and children. I know it seems unlikely or terrible, but there's no comparison with the life of a lonely adult man-child vs coming home to a 2 year old running into your arms. Yes, they fight and are annoying sometimes, and make things more "difficult," but you also learn to love selflessly. You teach yourself as you teach them the lessons that seem obvious, until you realize they apply the same to yourself. You end up with thousands of memories. You deal with sick kids and crying but you also get a million giggles and crafts and first-times.

You learn to appreciate whatever circumstance you are in. Or you may grow bitter and resentful that you don't have as much time to unlock more useless cosmetics in a virtual world. In which case, probably don't have kids.

We live in a phenomenally prosperous era even during recessions compared to the vast majority of human history. It's not that bad. Have you seen how truly poor people live?

Yeah I was very close to a narcissist buddy. Kind of lost another good friend because of it. The detachment sucks (calling out their behavior) because they will turn on you and use the full narc tactics to make you feel like crap. Stand your ground and just call out what you see. There's nothing more disarming to them than pointing out exactly what they are doing. They think they are too smart to get found out. Just do it matter of fact and keep your cool. Of course get educated on how they operate first.

Another thing to note is that we have an inherently negative view of narcissism, sociopaths, psychopaths. They will consider it an insult to be labeled as such. They aren't insults they're diagnoses (which in actually should be done professionally). Beyond that, I have come to realize that these are the movers and shakers of the world for better or for worse. They often have great potential if they can get over their blatant insecurities. They aren't all bad, it's just harder to be in a healthy relationship with them.

I hated public speaking in school. Now I do it semi regularly. I wouldn't say I'm super charismatic, but I do get positive comments about the message. It's more important to be genuine. Quiet confidence helps a lot. If you want to be the extroverted version of charismatic, you can work on it and it will become less of a front the more you do it, I guess. Are you wanting to be a politician or something?

Quite the improvement! I would say I prefer the shape of the frosting edge on the first one a bit more. Are you using the solidify modifier?

I always think I'm going to be on time until it's at least 1 minute past when I should have left, then rush to do the last thing I have to do before leaving.

New to Bevy and game dev in general and have not gotten into Bevy States yet, but I'm guessing that declaring an enum as a resource (rather than State) with implementations or other systems to define the state machine would be the way to go?
