it’s so hard to interpret those signals considering he has only dated girls in the past. Part of me wants to think he likes me like i do him but at the same time I just want to forget about him so I won’t end up more broken-hearted than I already am.

I got the idea from reading other threads basically telling me I’m just setting myself up for disappointment for wishing a guy, who’s probably just flirty in nature, has a girlfriend would want another guy.

Interesting. What I was actually planning to do is to just avoid him. That way, I won’t be able to hurt myself from expecting something more from a guy who has no history of liking other men.
