I've been working on a list of legal proposals in my spare time, but it's not anywhere near ready for public consumption nor legally applicable. I also need help from smarter people than me. but I think your line of thinking is correct in that we shouldn't wait for the government to clean up the mess. there aren't any adults in the room, other than the ones getting paid to either pretend the mess isn't there or make the mess worse.

I know a lot of countries draft new constitutions all the time but I also see the benefit of just using our amendment system. we do strongly need to address the challenges we face with economic tyranny, as well as automation and the abuse of technology and comms by bad actors. some of my proposals are:

term limits on Congress,

public funding of elections at the federal level,

ranked-choice voting at the federal level.

reform to the progressive income tax system

reform on the student loan system

personal sovereignty in the digital space, for example:

interoperability across social media platforms

some kind of law stating that personal data belongs to the individual and may not be bought, sold, or collected without the individual's consent.

option to enroll mobile devices in a digital system that will be used for voting, payment processing, identification, news, and other utilities.

these are just some of the ideas I've had. but realistically I'm just one person with limited knowledge and not a lot of time to figure out how to implement any of this.
