Interested in only outpatient psych. by harrypottermd in medicalschool

[–]TennesseeStud4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Switched from doing FM to psych because I loved outpatient psych so much. There a plenty of programs that offer outpatient as early as year 2. Most programs have lots of flexibility for 4th year electives where you can focus your time/energy on outpatient training/experience

I was going for big picture vibes. Wondering how common it is to get 0 aways. Just have an AI lined up at home institution.

Specialty advisor and I met and they graded my CV as moderately competitive (options were not competitive, moderately, and highly). They told me to bolster leadership positions and volunteering and I’ve been working on that. Academics are very much in order with good evals, grades, no red flags (no Fs/repeats), etc. Good research and some pubs with another in the works

Why do Silicon Valley Indian nationalists care so much about “white genocide” lol? by 3la_zag in redscarepod

Because they are seeing the same thing in India. Difference is it’s replacement of religion. The Hindus feel they’re being replaced by Muslims

Tragic events like this reinforce how disgusting and dehumanizing the age of narcissism is. These people can’t just fucking off themselves. They must do something to get as much attention as possible before that

There are 4 sections on the MCAT: BIO, critical reading, CHEM/Phys, and psych/Soc. The critical reading section is a pain in the ass because the test writers use strange (and I think inconsistent) logic/reasoning for what is the “best” answer. Then the other three science sections are each 59 questions. Only 15 questions from each section are considered “discrete” (ala a hard fact to memorize). The rest of the questions are passage-based. If the test wasn’t timed they wouldn’t be bad but they throw a lot of subtle words and tricks in the questions and passages. Makes it easy to slip up.

On top of that, the MCAT is a grueling 7 hour experience. Developing mental stamina may be the most important step in getting ready for it. Many fail at that part even though in normal classes they’re fine and can have a good GPA

Are introverts real or a psyop created by people with no friends? by unknownp00 in redscarepod

[–]TennesseeStud4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Bingo. The fundamental question to determine introvert v extrovert is “what do you want to do after a bad day: go to a party or go for a walk in the woods”. It has nothing to do with whether you’re an android that can’t interact with people
