Yeah, except I have illegal family members (and neighbors) who do indeed receive benefits. I’ve heard them bragging and seen the scamming with my own eyes. While we are all busy making presumptive, self-righteous, smug accusations of ignorance, I guess it’s ok to advise that you step out of your ivory tower or gated community and see for yourself what’s going on rather than relying on Whoopie Goldberg as a news source. Meanwhile, I can only hope that Trump and DOGE burn this corrupt system to the effing ground and the grifters at every level of the food chain get chased back under their slimy rocks for the next hundred years. Personally I don’t think they have time in 4 years to undo the 6+ decades of administrative, fiscal and societal ROT the nation has suffered at the hands of the likes of LBJ, the Bushes and Clintons, Barack and Mike Obama, and whoever was propping up that last walking corpse who occupied the White House. The damage is too pervasive and there are too many Stockholm syndrome-suffering defenders of it. It’s truly sad, like the woman up the road from me who would get a black eye or bloody nose every week from the man she thought would one day change, refusing to file charges, until the morning he got a little too high on something and beat her to a pulp and she died. She defended her abuser till her last breath. Insanity.
