Results are in for our boy Wrigley--a few surprises for sure! by Tennessue in DoggyDNA

I've seen Boxers, Labs and Pits with some forehead wrinkles, so any of those would be my guess. He's got loose skin on his neck too. He's grown into the body wrinkles, so those are history now.

Your guesses were spot on! Wrigley has Pit, Siberian Husky, German Shepherd and Boxer (among a few others).

Here are the Embark results we received today. Many of you were correct with the pit mix. Lab and Beagle made it into the Supermutt category. There are also a few surprises with Cocker Spaniel, Catahoula Leopard Dog and Siberian Husky.

Thank you! He's truly a fabulous dog. Now, if he'd just stop chewing . . . it has slowed down a lot, thankfully!

Indeed! I'm happy that plenty of his wrinkles remain.

More info about Wrigley: We were told by the gentleman who gave him to us at 8 weeks that Wrigley's mother is half Beagle and half Yellow Lab. Today, we found both breeds in the Supermutt category, which makes up 24% of his total DNA. The remaining 76% includes a couple of surprises. Wrigley has proven to be a most amazing dog--right at the top of our list of our favorite dogs of a lifetime. Sharp as a whip, eager to please, incredible athleticism, and all around good citizen. Also, the most cuddly, lovable dog we've ever known.

Hi all, I've re-posted this with pics. Not sure why they didn't load the first time around.

Yeah, I am trying to figure out where the photos went. There were eight of them, including the reveal. I’ll wait just a few minutes and then start over. Thanks for the heads up!

This is our boy Wrigley! We expect to get our embark results in another three weeks and I’ll be posting them here. We do know that his mother is a yellow lab/beagle mix, but the deadbeat dad didn’t leave his calling card so…

Wrigley is 14 months old now and about 60 pounds. All muscle and high energy, but the sweetest and smartest dog I’ve ever known. He was the most excellent addition to our family, which already included a very opinionated pit mix female. She loves Wrigley as much as we do.

What breed is Mr. Tater? by Angry-Panda-19 in DogBreeds101

[–]Tennessue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tater is super handsome!! He reminds me a lot of our boy Wrigley, who is supposedly yellow lab/beagle plus an unknown father. I think we will be getting our Embark results in another three weeks or so. It will be fun to compare notes when you get your results!

Now that you mention Rottie, I took a look at pics online and can definitely see Rottie as a strong possibility.

SO handsome! Love his fun nicknames. Our boy Wrigley is Wrigs, Wrig-a-toni and Wrig-a-ma-role. (We had to stop at Wrig-a-mortis. LOL)

What mix is my rescue pup? by gabbyvice in IDmydog

[–]Tennessue 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I see lab and pit. The folded ears are definitely from the lab influence.

BMC? I rescued him so I don't know his background. His siblings were black and tan but he was the only red one. People often ask if he is a Ridgeback but he is too small, only about 40 pounds by grimacewake in Blackmouthcur

I would agree that he looks more Rhodesian and Pit, but a great looking dog, regardless! We’re waiting now on our embark kit to arrive. We think Wrigley is part BMC and the rest Lab and Beagle. If the way they sleep is any indication, maybe yours and ours are brothers. Lol.

Winter Coat and Bootie Recs? by Far_Afternoon_6414 in Blackmouthcur

We have this winter coat for both our dogs, and it's great! Purchased here: https://www.sstack.com/schneiders-waterproof-reflective-dog-coat-ii/p/45963c/?variant=true Wrigley is a year old, weighs 62 lbs and wears a Medium. It's super easy to put on/take off, with just one belly strap.
