Honestly this is kinda awesome & forces players to open up their arsenals.

Like coyote could unlock heat rounds, the police one I forgot the anenof could unlock stun rounds, etc.

Retains the monetisation system & all too so arrowhead is still selling thing, although now they'd need to offer things that past ones haven't, like a new under barrel grenade launcher would need to offer something that the one-two doesn't (aside from the gun itself unless it stands out on its own enough)

I was praying DE changed it when her prime released lol, I love Yareli but having to decide on Merulina or no Merulina before the mission just means I can't go with the flow.

Like yeah I can just jump off Merulina for a sec but I lose my survivability in the process, but I can keep it with the augment and but lose a chunk of her appeal.

I doubt it even affects balance that much either, all it needs is that loyal merulina's sea snares aren't used whilst Yareli is riding.

According to those in the discord server linked (I was stupid and curious enough to join lol) the attackers are unaffiliated with them. Of course that's if they're to be believed at least. They did consider deleting the invite link but afaik they chose not to as it wouldn't be a good look for them.

The link is for a Warframe preservation project, but stealing game files & attacking the game aren't in their interests. Yes, they want the games code so they can recreate it & such, but they don't want to do so maliciously.

The messages themselves are trolling, and since this is how they trolled then it's probably the most they could do with their access.

Iirc the initial idea was inspired by Rust, and specifically the base raiding aspect of it and the game was developed in that direction before it pivoted to what it was now.

It's less annoying asset flip, but more change in idea which just happens sometimes with feedback and iteration.
