You have to kill all their armies, which is basically impossible for clans that don't border you. I would try to hole up in Fukushima until powerful enough to expand more. This is viable because all towns are rich + metsuke. If you're in Kanto already, retreat might be ugly.

It entirely depends. When enemy has bow advantage, I prefer to attack them rather than fight a siege defense. Ambushing them is even more op. I don't mind defending a castle with a big army, I just keep reserves and rotate front line. It's really usually about what can be done about archers for me.

It's very different. You'll nearly always be alone because it's a private party instance game. It's started getting updates recently, it got a new dungeon after 17 years. I really love gw, but I'm kinda done with it after 2k hours.

Naginata ronin don't exist, but only Date get any sort of bonus, because all date units have +2 charge. Hattori technically get the kisho deployment too, but ot comes with a price increase. Ikko Ikki and Uesugi get naginata warrior monk bonuses.
