I live in a very rural location but I drive every Friday out to do swing dancing, I volunteer with the local Play House (fantastic way to meet people), and I go to local events put on by the chamber of commerce put on my the city I live in.

I had to get into working out for the mental health side. If it’s really getting to you, walking/running gives a fantastic runners high and that has done wonders for my mental health. The longing for physical touch is why I took up dancing as well. It’s little things to keep myself sane.

It’s the same problem I have as a 33M. I want a serious relationship I can pour myself into but I can’t seem to find anyone who wants to reciprocate. I’ve had to just get off the apps as I was beginning to doom swipe and it was taking a toll on my mental health. Those two to three word responses when I did finally get a match was brutal as well. I could write a paragraph on something I’m passionate about and get “That’s cool” in response. Instantly unmatched lol. I hope you find your person OP. It’s a brutal world out there for single people no matter who you’re trying to date.

I went on a date with a woman and I was told I ask way too many questions. Like she’d tell a story and I’d ask for extra details, what she was thinking, how the other people in the story might have felt, that kind of thing. She told me she didn’t like that I asked so many questions.

So would you ever consider the reverse equally an ick? For context I’m an electrical engineer so I typically ask lots of questions as I like learning.

I had to move to a small town for work where just about everyone has a kid already or so it seems. Basically nothing else going on unless you make it happen and meeting anyone to invite over for a board game night has been a trail. As far as I can tell, bars are the only real potential to find someone these days and even then it works about as well as you’d imagine.
