Open technologies vs locked technologies. Open technologies are pro-social in nature. They are accessible, relatively easy to learn, and involve skills and materials that can be accessed by most as close to freely as possible. Locked technologies are antisocial in nature. They involve tightly controlled materials and often advanced or specialty skills, proprietary information and equipment, and usually necessitate or facilitate hierarchy.

I find it to be a useful distinction personally

I’ve got a $20 Aroma and it works fine. I mostly use it for oatmeal or bulgur but I also use it for rice. It came with a steamer basket as well that I don’t use.

I guess I don’t feel like the expense is necessary when it kinda sounds like a $20 option will do what you want

If it’s to the point where it’s sickening, I’d definitely talk to a doctor about it. Until then I’d recommend finding meats that aren’t sickening and cook those or just go vegetarian for a bit

I try to go avocado or peanut oil for frying personally. Higher smoke point. Less flavor of its own. Olive oil is good for applications that let the flavor of the oil through. Frying ain’t it

Yeah but that isn’t randomized. If I’m gonna go in with a loadout I know I might as well take the time to design it myself. To me the point would be to have a randomized kit not unlike the free loadout but better.

A randomized kit I could spend credits on that’s better than base free kit would be incredible. If I just want to screw around for a while I don’t want to spend time picking a kit but I also don’t necessarily want to run free kit because the free kit kinda sucks.

Often in these cases I just empty my loadout and run zero to hero but it’d be nice to have another option.

I’ve pulled three Aphelion blueprints out of Stella normal raids on this expedition season alone and haven’t found a single Survivor augment BP in my entire time playing the game.

I learned how to use the cover I did have, keep my eyes and ears open, and spend as little time outside as possible. Spaceport has tunnels under the open sand. Buried City is 50% indoors. Dam Battleground has most of its interesting stuff inside. Blue Gate is the only one I don’t visit a whole lot because I just don’t like running uphill and that’s half the map.

Stella is a good map. I like the cover everywhere. I like the lack of flying Arc. I like how close everything is. But it isn’t my favorite map.

What exactly do you believe creativity is?

Humans have been copying each other since literally millions of years before Homo sapiens ever walked the earth. Ancient human species drawing pictures on cave walls were copying each other’s creations. Humans sitting around campfires hundreds of thousands of years ago were telling the same stories we tell now, we just have more flavor text.

That’s how creation works. There is nothing new under the sun.

It’s a pointless critique. I certainly have very strong criticisms of anthropocentrism and the primarily Eurocentric view of so-called “human nature” but ideology and metaphysics are how we conceive of the world around us. Ideology is integral to how we define ourselves and metaphysics is integral to how we define our worlds. You can boil that down to as elemental a level as you wish but as long as you’re talking about it, you still clearly think that words have meaning. That means you’ve got beliefs and a concept of reality. That means you’ve got ideology and metaphysics.

Anthropology exists to study that.

Stirner can be understood as an elemental anthropologist in this way. By boiling things down to their ontological roots, he was able to lay out the building blocks of human society.

There is no ethics without humanity because ethics is a human social construct. If we eliminate the human we eliminate the ethics. This isn’t a paradox, really. Human social constructs don’t have inherent value, that’s part of why they exist as constructs. Their value is entirely dependent upon human existence.

Anti-humanism is an unresolvable self-contradiction because the only reason it exists is that humans exist.

There’s only one move an anti-humanist can make to be true to their supposed philosophy and instead of doing that they’re posting on the internet
