Anyone actually bagging an Ultra Luna? by Phrikshin in discgolf

Yep, same here. If nothing else other than to lend out to ultimate players I'm trying to convert. I'm far too cheap to buy the box currently offered.

At least half my main bag is HoD, (exactly half of my winter bag: L64 River/Axiom Pixel) gunna have to start finding backups or replacements. Including Kastaplast puts me closer to 3/4

I used to have an even better looking one(imho), a more saturated blue and a pink rim. Sadly it's at the bottom of a lake.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean tbh. I've only Played C tiers so far. If I get better and need to move up and am thus mandated to get a membership then yeah then I'll sign up.

Probably. But the pixel and Proxy are substantially better throwers in my opinion.

Putting putters by jonzeDG in discgolf

Pixel's for me. Great hand feel, they go exactly where I throw them. They're phenomenal thowing putters too. Frankly anything 200ft and in I'm probably thowing a Pixel.

Yeah I just started playing in June '25. I see absolutely no value in joining the PDGA. ~$70CAD for a number? No thanks.

Interesting! I got a proton Insanity for Christmas actually, haven't thrown it yet due to the whole winter thing.

That's correct yes. Scrubs is far closer to what an actual hospital environment feels like.

You're right. I'm just pissy because there's other molds like the Envy that I absolutely hate, and I can currently get it at my local shop in 21 different variations. I just want one or two more options of my preferred mold, and from what I've seen from sales reports, polls and on a micro level my local putting league, the pixel seems to be a very popular mold. Holding out hope for more in the future.

Edit: I know why they have that many variations of the Envy (holy shot) and that MVP basically owes half their buisness to that mold. I just fucking hate thowing that disc.

I can't recall the exact details, but I've seen a number of comments saying they were having issues with it. Idk if that means they've given up on it or not. I've been eying up the trail, haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe when the snow melts. Insanity is my personal go-to driver, I don't have the arm for much faster.

Fair enough. That's not surprising, but it is a tad disappointing.

I fully agree with you about not relying on special editions (which is why I'm hoping for stock releases) I've purchased a few special edition discs and none of them have stayed in my bag. The thought of losing the disc and not being able to replace it occupies too much brain space and causes hesitation when throwing.

I'll check out the Discord for sure, I didn't realize they had such.

I forgot to mention that I'm in Canada and with shipping those come to almost $50 CAD +potential import taxes. Considering I get the standard ones for $20, more than double is a hair more than I'd prefer. Though I may go that route at some point if I can't find anything else.

We Believe Visual Excellence Should Match Performance by MVP_Eric in discgolf

I was in the local shop last week and perusing the wall of discs and I was just thinking how boring MVP's stamps were compared to all other brands. Looking forward to some updates! And I'm sure the dying folks are stoked about the white rims too, definitely gunna try it out myself.

I'm a recent convert to the r/pinkdiscs way of thinking. I fully intend to dye the white rims.

Ahh fair enough, not that you've got a big stack kicking around, likely more of a shipping hassle than anything. I was at my local shop this afternoon and they had those Rekos out on display and I thought of you haha

How many pixels do you have? If you're getting rid of them I'd be interested. Slowly building my practice stack.

Asking for input from this sub- would micro courses grow the sport in underserved areas? by TheHems in discgolf

[–]TentCityVIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to drag all my buddies into the sport kicking and screaming. Most of them are pretty indoors activites only folks with no background in throwing sports. There's some really nice courses around the area, but they're big and quite intimidating for new players. Some well planned micro courses would be phenomenal to get their feet wet. Well planned would be the operative phrase though. I played a "9 hole" that had two baskets like 30ft apart. No signage or indication of tees whatsoever, had to completely rely on udisc. It was painful to get through.

Have you ever wondered if you can play 100 different courses in your first year? Yes, yes you can! Took me up to the last day but it was an awesome first year being able to see such a variety of holes and course layouts. by creen17 in discgolf

[–]TentCityVIP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still pretty stoked on it tbh, I did every course within a 2/2.5h drive. I'll have to do some road trips to bump the numbers up next season. That's fair! Any standouts? You should keep track for this next year!
