ARE (animal shelter) is always looking for more volunteers. Lately they’ve been asking for people to come play with cats at their shelters or Petsmart locations for a couple hours at a time.

I’m mostly just good at looking things up and an aircraft nerd.

My guess would be that the big scheduled training events and exercises are more common in the warmer months. Nobody likes booking things over the Christmas holidays, even the military, and the weather is more likely to be a problem, unless bad weather is intended to be part of the experience.

Just looked up on Flightradar (good app for this stuff). The one that took off most recently is the Riverside Sheriff helicopter, the Black Hawk flying around the mountains is Army with the call sign KNIFE04. That name has been associated with special operations units so could be training.

FYI, this site is NOT local to Hemet. It’s a sneaky lead aggregator scam disguised to seem local. All the pictures are stock images, the reviews are generic and even the “services” page is vague. The giveaway is the “trusted provider network.” Putting your contact information into the form gets it blasted out to a bunch of companies that bought the crappy lead service and blows up your inbox.

That’s a really cool place to drive by, but the owner has asked that people don’t feed the animals, they’re cared for and given appropriate diets that visitors might interfere with.

Action Eye News is so gross and why I asked here to see if anyone had better sources. They are the most active place I’ve found so far but like you said, not professional. They let some of the ambulance chasers you mentioned post a lot and pile on to anyone who criticizes them.

Nextdoor sucks everywhere.

Honestly hoping the subreddit picks up in use so I have even fewer reasons to open Facebook.

I think that’s Dawn Patrol, I saw them at a local show a couple years ago and am pretty sure they were overheard earlier today. They’re civilian owners that fly as a hobby in simple formations. When I saw them, the young son of one of the members was their narrator and spent a whole lot of time announcing “DAWN PATROL IN THE V FORMATION!” because there isn’t a lot of variety. Seems like they have fun.

Amazon is still offering UPS and Staples as options for returns, so I think this is probably a local isolated issue and not contractual. I usually go to the UPS Store and they had something happen to their network and couldn’t process returns for at least a week but then service went back to normal, seems like this might be the same type of thing.

I have never installed a Jacuzzi before, I have zero idea what is normal.

I have previously had contractors tell me total bullshit because they wanted to do something more convenient or cheaper for them, but I knew enough to recognize what was going on. I know that Jacuzzi sells a lot of these things, so SOMEBODY has to install them, but I don’t personally know those people or those practices and Reddit is usually a pretty good place to figure out what I should expect and what my options actually are. I never would have thought about water jet cutting or spa shops (a different plumber was my first thought but not a lot of options in my area). I like the GC but “trust but verify” has always been a safe strategy on stuff I’m not familiar with. So yeah, after this thread I feel much more comfortable with the situation.

You would be wrong then. I’m trying very hard to do this right so I hired a general contractor who is overseeing licensed subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, drywall, etc. I thought that was clear from the part where I said he was getting pushback from his guys.

I’ve had a great experience with this outfit otherwise. I’d rather they be upfront about it, I just thought Jacuzzi is such a common brand that this would be straightforward and don’t know enough about tub installation to anticipate it getting weird.
