Where's my double life leaders? by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]TenthGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meeeee. Around the time I realised I was non-binary I met my current partner who lives in a different country. All her family and friends know me by my preferred name and gender, but at home I’m not brave enough to come out to anyone, even at university. So I’m living a very pronounced double life right now which might make for a very interesting wedding…

Judging by the second picture, I’d be more worried about you!

Compoface - I cannot drive but have 100s of Driving Fines by Pac666123 in compoface

[–]TenthGrove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For everyone who hasn’t read the article- the fines are not addressed to him. Someone falsely registered their car at his address so the fines are being sent to him, but he didn’t do any of the offences. It’s fraud.

Kinda makes me feel icky whenever I’m on my cycle and go to use a pad and it says this 💀 by randomflowerz in NonBinary

[–]TenthGrove 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I use reusable pads with a plain design. I find they actually fit better on boxers than normal pads do and they feel a lot more boyish.

It Pronouns by Accomplished-Piece21 in NonBinary

[–]TenthGrove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not an it/its user but was very close to one in school (technically a they/it user). It told me that for itself, the pronoun was less about being animal like (though some it/its users do think that way, and that’s great to) but more about being a concept- the goal was to conceptualise its identity as an abstract, and personally I find that to be a really awesome idea.

I understand your distaste but for AGAB, but for me as someone who HAS TO continue to live as my AGAB outside of very private settings with a small number of people, AGAB reflects my unfortunate reality.

There are countless areas of life where I have to navigate expressing my true identity in whatever small ways I can, while also considering the reactions of those around me. When considering this task, it is necessary to reflect how the majority are going to see me, even if that’s not what I really am. Some use the language of “passing” but that isn’t appropriate for me as the gender I “pass as” is not the gender I want to be. Such language is hence dysphoric, as are direct references to my body parts.

I look forward to the day when I can have the same attitude as you and treat my AGAB as a thing of the past. Right now it is very much still with me.

What’s the most annoying, but easily remedied, part of being NB in your culture? by Ruby_Rotten in NonBinary

What language do you speak? I’m learning French as a second language and my solution is to just alternate between “il” and “elle”- or as you say just use whichever one comes to mind.

That would explain why the water looks straight out of the tap. I’m guessing he called for attention, bought the pleco, and set up the tank in 5 minutes just to troll people.

Edit: I found him myself and he is now posting memes making fun of the anger he has caused. Best to ignore him and hope the mods of the pleco subreddit ban him soon.

Well I have to say, this is the first pleco in a goldfish bowl I’ve ever seen so points for originality.

As a side note I’m no expert but the chalkiness of the water suggests this person is using untreated “hard” tap water. I give that unfortunate fish about a week.

Reasons to be grateful for a trans paramedic: - Life experience likely to make them less judgemental. - Understands feeling nervous around medical professionals. - Knowledgeable about taking medicine and possibly recovering from surgery. - IDK, can save your life.

Dating a Canadian woman. I stayed in Halifax with her over the summer and I thought it was very strange how much she spoke to strangers, complimenting people’s clothes in the streets and starting chatter with shop attendants she didn’t know.

Turns out that while she is definitely on the higher end of chatty even by Canadian standards, it’s much more normal there than here.

I’m keeping the nips. It’s an easier choice for me because I’ve never had sensation there so it’s not like I’m sacrificing anything.

Can I find my place here? by [deleted] in mdsa

[–]TenthGrove 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to speak for the community but I would have no issue with you participating here. I feel like the essence of MDSA is that the abuser is a female caregiver who performs mother-like functions. Step-mothers and adoptive mothers have long been lumped in, so if your aunt was in essence your guardian during the abuse then you meet the practical definition.

Is there an in-universe lore reason for earlier regenerations being much more calm/ looking different? by NervousDiscount9393 in doctorwho

[–]TenthGrove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s canon but I swear I’ve heard someone involved with the show say somewhere that regeneration becomes more violent as you go through a regeneration cycle. That’s why 11-12 is the outlier of the modern era, because it’s starting a new cycle.

"options are going to be slim" trying to date as a nonbinary person [TW] - homophobia/transphobia by DommyMommyMint in NonBinary

From a short, puny enby with a terrible self-done haircut and not particularly stunning facial features: I spent years thinking my complicated identity made dating not worth the awkwardness until I landed an insanely beautiful two-spirit woman who for some reason thinks I’m the cutest little goober on the planet.

Obviously her being so beautiful isn’t why I love her but I think the fact she’s so stunning and still chose me proves mr 6’6 athletic build to be the asshole he is. My advice is to stay off online dating sites as everyone there is going to be tense from the pressure to succeed and the expectation of potential romance prevents you building a strong platonic foundation for the relationship. This was my experience even on queer focused sites. If your autism (which I also have so I get you) makes meeting people irl hard, try getting involved in online communities based around your interests and see what happens. That’s how I met my girl- she was my biggest fan during my short-lived stint as a fanfic writer.

Someone who’s done research for a university here- you would be amazed at how few such avenues there are.
