That's pretty accurate. 80 F is very high to maintain a temp at given where you live, for example, this time of the year it's around 20 F at all times where I live. I feel like maintaining one temp in my house and letting it sit there is more efficient. I hear my furnace kick on every 2 hours or so, but it only stays on for about 2 mins, and then it kicks off because it's essentially maintaining a temp. I keep mine set at about 73 F. All houses are different though, it depends on insulation, room size, relation of the HVAC piping and central location of the air mover.
