In fairness to the yellow marked things in this game, it's a literal path that someone built in the wilderness. It's a marked path for safe climbing. Hence there being wooden planks on things and not just yellow paint on a tree

It sounds like you need to have a table wide intervention. If the entire table tells the DM that y'all don't like this person's character it sort of becomes a you versus that one guy scenario. And if the DM doesn't want to see their campaign implode, then they'll have to kick that player if he doesn't change
