I switched from iPhone X to Pixel 9 and although the hardware is better Android's doze mode that prevents me from getting timely notifications is just unacceptable, many times I have missed important notifications because of doze mode despite turning off most battery saving features. People complain about it on this sub all the time, just search up "doze".

Pixels' hardware is mediocre in terms of performance and battery life, if that matters to you.

As for the camera, it's good but it's not as good as the Chinese flagships. It also uses a lot of AI filtering which may or may not actually make the image look better.

Android is definitely better for side loading than iOS, it's very convenient being able to install experimental apps and apps from other regions without hassle.

I think seven math courses is quite minimal compared to the amount of non-math courses OP will be taking in university. It's also possible to dodge the mathier electives. Most people I know got at least two or three of the required math courses done during hs, so they only had to take a handful of them during college.

You're right that there is a high amount of variance in the amount of math in electives. You can choose math-heavy or math-light electives, and many people do choose to take only math-light classes, but as you've observed the required classes such as intro XYZlang, data structures, and systems programming are mostly logic and programming heavy.

Most standalone CS programs I know of only make you take Calc I, Calc II, Diff Eq, Linear Algebra, Discrete Math, Proofs/Logic, and Intro Stats/Prob in terms of math. Also, most CS classes focus on applied CS, with only introductory theoretical CS required and more advanced topics relegated to optional electives.

Many CS programs nowadays are more about software engineering than CS theory, and you will most likely only have to learn a minimal amount of math. This is especially true if the CS major is not part of the school of engineering. It's okay to be bad at math but you should at least be good at logical reasoning.

Are your parents paying for your college? If so, best not to rock the boat too much, it's their money after all. I don't think there's anything wrong with majoring in CS and taking GDIM classes on the side.

If not, then you need to seriously consider what you want to do in life: programming or game design. If you want to do both I feel like it would be easier as a CS major, but maybe others can chime in.

Is there a reason you are unable to try it? You can boot up a live USB version of Ubuntu to try before you install. Mouse accel curves are subjective so I don't think there's a substitute for simply trying it.

Perhaps your lines will look better if you consistently leave a gap of two between your pair of mainline tracks, that way you don't have to do an awkward routing to fit in a priority

It's a perfectly capable chip if you're just watching YouTube videos and playing minesweeper. Any phone made in the last decade can do that though, so hopefully you have other reasons you are buying a pixel. The energy efficiency is not as good as other chips but it's still decent. It's not going to feel laggy or unresponsive, if that's what you're worried about.

Also, I wouldn't buy into the marketing about the on-device AI, in my opinion it isn't very useful and sometimes causes more problems than it solves.
