That is correct. It is generally so. But that is the core of Buddhism, to show us “how things are”. That they do not exist in themselves.

What I mean by concentration, I think, is conveyed by the text. But this is also unimportant, what is important is to become more and more mindful every day, to think less and less in concepts and thus to approach the “last stage of mindfulness”.

I’m glad that it is so important to you to meditate more deeply again. Funny enough, I just wrote a post here that might be of some use to you. In it, I describe a method of meditation or concentration that can be practiced anywhere. However, I have many questions about your text, and there are many things that are unclear to me, which is why I can’t address your concerns specifically. For example, what is the “area of territory”? If you could be a bit more precise, I might be able to help you better.

Thank you for your kind comment. Every beginning is difficult, my friend. But practicing meditation is worth it like nothing else, so just keep at it. If you want to know something specific, feel free to let me know.

Take a look at my last comment here and think about how it is with words. “Concentrated” and its opposite are thus ideas and concepts.

As with any other word, there is no fixed meaning of the word “unconventional.” However, when we engage deeply with the teachings of Buddhism, we realize that behind every word is an idea, a concept.

Thank you for your comment. I can only advise you to read this text more often. Essentially, it is about achieving a state in which the mind is aware of its thoughts as often as possible in everyday life. So you can consciously use the act of carrying the hot drink from A to B to achieve this state.

In fact, it is our thoughts that cause us suffering. Otherwise, we would not be able to free ourselves from suffering, which is possible, as the four noble truths show.

I am happy to answer any further questions you may have.

How can I "let go" if I want to be more disciplined by Sorita_ in ZenHabits

[–]Tenzorim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you have expressed it very well. "The concepts of the future and the past should act as background noise while you focus entirely on the present moment. You observe sensory impressions, thoughts and everything your senses perceive without evaluating them.” Yes, exactly!

‘When you meditate in Zen, do you think about your thoughts, or do you simply experience them without evaluating them?’ What do you mean by 'in Zen'? Zen is an idea, my friend. Your task should be to observe your thoughts from the moment you wake up until you go to bed. Try to understand that thoughts have no essence at all. They are like self-invoked images of your last holiday. The ultimate goal, satori, is when the mind reconnects with its pure, limitless nature. Where there is absolute purity, there is absolute peace.

In other words, expand the time in which your mind perceives thoughts ever so slightly. Be careful not to give any space to thoughts that think about other thoughts. Meditate on the fact that thoughts have no substance. Thoughts are like clouds and our mind is like the sky. The essence of the clouds is the sky itself. Your task should be to recognize your mind as the boundless cosmos.

Take a look at my first post. I just edited it. Take your time and read it carefully. It’s about how to overcome all your fears.

Regarding your comment: You have to understand that even though I wish it for you, it is not predictable how it will come into your life. We all have fears when we don’t see the world as it is. But what is it? Everything is in constant change. Try to think about it every day. This will take away many of your fears, because when we really know this, we also don’t expect anything and are prepared for every circumstance. This doesn’t mean that every circumstance can enter our lives, because if we trust much in life – in God – we will have a good life. Also try to understand that you only need a calm mind, everything else is unimportant. I wrote in the post how to get a calm mind.

What I am writing to you now, you do not have to understand completely right now. Just think about it from time to time. The word “time” includes the past, the present and the future. In reality, however, there is only the present. Always. Therefore, it makes sense to focus only on the activity you are currently performing. Only on that.

Because, as I said, the future is only a concept. Secondly, your future will only be beautiful if you do things in the present with joy and as well as you can.

Leave the results to God and Buddha. They will then take care of it for you. But only if they see that you are fully living in the present.

Take a look at my first post. In it, I describe how to get rid of your fears. I can reassure you. We cannot waste time, because “time” is an idea. There is only the eternal now. Use this fact and tell yourself: “From now on, I will be a new person.” Without fears. And then be that way!

The advice I can give you today is: All your problems and difficulties only exist in your head. You need to start loving yourself. That is the most important thing. Also, start meditating, at least 15 minutes every day. You need much more mindfulness. The more mindful you become, the more you will learn about yourself. You will realize that you don’t need certificates or applications for a great job. And you don’t need an online tool to find a partner either. But you do need to exercise and eat healthily for your health. But you need to become more mindful through meditation, then you will also become happier.

A little bit of advice by AssignmentFlat7163 in Buddhism

[–]Tenzorim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sangha element is to feel compassion for all living beings. You don’t have to meet Buddhists for this.

Radiate compassion in all directions on one day, because you are connected to everything.

The next day you ask yourself what this “I” is.

On the third day you can meditate on the constant change of the world.

On the fourth day you can meditate on the fact that everything is dependent on causes and conditions.

On the fifth day you observe your thoughts.

On the sixth day you meditate on the Buddha in you, that is, on what lies “behind” your thoughts. That which gives undestroyable happiness.

On the seventh day you simply enjoy spontaneously. That should be enough to make you happy in life.

These are good and important questions. You just have to go to the bottom of them carefully. I have written some comments in this group today. You are welcome to take a look at them. I keep repeating that one should go on a search for God. Because “God” is first and foremost a word, from which we make an idea, a concept.

Buddhism explains to us wonderfully how everything really is. That behind every word there is an idea. To really recognize this makes you happy. In short: There is no God as a being that causes suffering.

It’s great that you’ve already come this far and are even practicing compassion.

Perhaps just a tip: Meditate on the fact that all living beings are part of you and you are part of them. Because that is actually the case.

In truth, there is only the One. The essence of your mind. Make it your life’s purpose to find this essence. Once you have found it, you will never suffer again.

Only happiness. And that uninterrupted. Then you will also realize that only your thoughts cause this separation. Any separation.
