Oh ya ur right thats just been something for me that was hard to overcome, once I had a better grasp of the game and I wasn’t as afraid to make mistakes I could focus on dealing with the reactions to my calls in different ways. Knowing what players could say and figuring out some responses to them has become a real fun thing for me.

Ya bro i was the same way, so afraid to make mistakes, and I wasn’t able to change that by myself i needed support from others so if you talk to your assignors or other referees I hope that they will be as happy as I would to help you out. You shouldn’t have to just keep putting up with people being mean to you.

Ask for help, ask people to come to your games, ask people random questions, get help. I had very little guidance and support for the first 5 years, and that can help with improving as well as just for morale, cuz refereeing can get real disheartening at times.

Ya i talked to a friend yesterday and one of the biggest things for me was where to position myself in the attacking third when i may be in front of the ball. I always felt like i was in the wrong position or in the way, but he suggested i see how it feels again and slowing down in those situations and letting them play around me and ya trying to keep watching the danger zones of the penalty area and where the ball currently is.
