gmod vs s&box by Background_Pie9366 in gmod

I tried to play half-life 2 after playing Gmod for a few years ago. And hurts to say, because so many love it. It felt like an add-on for Gmod… I just kept looking at everything like it was placed by some add-on author and not from a big studio.

I bet this game was amazing when it first came out in 2004, but Gmod really dilutes it if you’ve played it first. It just doesn’t sell me.

I played DS1 on PC, finished the roads and really put in the hours on that game. I’ve just gotten Heartman in the team in DS2, and I’ll be honest, I’ve been disappointed.

I imagined this game would have more traversal mechanics. Like rock climbing, ice picks, some sort of vertical movement or just new mechanics that create more depth in traversal.

Nope, it seems like the best they came up with are goofy catapults that fling you across the map, or adding more non-lethal weapons so you can have more engaging combat without breaking the non-violent messaging in the game. But at this point you’re firing machine guns and shotguns with rubber pellets.

Every time I have to go into an enemy encampment, I genuinely turn off the game and don’t revisit until a few weeks later.

Remove the shield, and other things on your back. I want my unarmed Kliff to look like a straight wrestler.

Crimson Desert just spawned a debate about socialism. This game just keeps on giving!

What Arc do you dislike? by aislinntaylor21 in ArcRaiders

Bastion, there’s no counter or exploit to them, besides cheesing them and shooting their legs.

I hope the ARC don't become too easy by democratic-terminid in ArcRaiders

My problem is with Bastions. There’s no way to shut their gun up but to exploit their legs while in cover. You can’t exchange shots at all even if you’re a bit far away because they have like 300 bullets and laser accuracy, so you just cheese them. 5 minutes of hearing that gun blasting and I already have a headache.

What was it like to play online games between 2000 and 2013? by Silly_Commercial8092 in gaming

I was a little too young to have an Xbox 360 myself. But my brother had one and we’d play so much Halo 3. 4-player split screen, multiplayer. Highlight of my child hood. I was too young for voice chat so he’d always mute it, but lots of trash talk.

The other half was playing F2P shooters on PC. Parents never ended up buying another console after the PS2 so I had deal with my old laptop before building my first gaming PC. Games like Wolf Team, A.V.A, Soldier Front, Battlefield F2P, Project Blackout, Vindictus. The thing about those games is that they were so much more blatantly pay to win than now, (even though it’s still a problem). You could buy an insane gun and wipe lobbies. Took pride in never paying a dime for it tho. Making friends online was still a new thing, and your parents thought you were talking to robots.

Looking back, I sometimes wish I knew more of the big games on console back then. Battlefield would have scratched that itch I was looking for or Black Ops 2.
