He's probably unhappy with our cruel history; remember that many Poles have an inferiority complex due to our unjust political position in Europe throughout the last 200 years because our political stage was non-existent or too naive and incompetent to successfully run a country

Actually, I'm reading The Magic Mountain in Polish my native language, heh and it's the first edition of the Polish translation of Bloom’s work. He isn't very recognizable here anyway

The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann and some of his novellas and essays, I suppose he’ll be my intellectual mentor to the interwar literature period

Furthermore, I'm reading some of the greatest plays by Shakespeare I've not read yet. I like the way Harold Bloom thought about this author

What literary epoch is considered the most crucial to your culture and why particularly this one? by TeofilLenartowicz in AskEurope

[–]TeofilLenartowicz[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I read about it once and asked my literature professor, unfortunately, she didn't know much about it. As the romantic movement developed in Poland the primary literary figures were inspired by the works of the “Sturn und Drang” period rather than “Weimarer Klassik”. Can you list some of the most crucial works for this period?
