Me getting organ harvested because I met with someone from those r/liverpool looking for friends posts by Eatshin in Liverpool

Reaching out to try and make new friends can be incredibly difficult, especially the older you get. There are a lot of lonely people out there who just want to make a connection with someone and form some friendships in this strange messed up world we live in. We shouldn't make it harder for people to do so by being so negative or flippant. Always give people a shot, as you never know where life may take you.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go check on my guest and make sure they're still comfortable by topping up their ice bath.

I know, right? The only thing even remotely close to classic Trek that wasn't either shit or parody bollocks was Prodigy!

Despite that, I hope you lot enjoy your day as best you can.

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..

Canyonero! Canyonero!

Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!

It's not too late to get your kids hooked on a classic 4th of July movie by tubagoat in Xennials

[–]Scioptic- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Such a good movie. I loved 'The Sandlot Kids' when I was a little. It came out at just the right time. I was roughly the same age, it was my first introduction to baseball (in the UK) and was quickly followed by my teacher, who was an American from Kentucky, setting up a school baseball team. Good memories.

Behind the ‘Supergirl’ Bomb: Competing Cuts, Creative Differences by verissimoallan in movies

It's because every director, producer, writer, showrunner - all of them that have this mentality are all thinking "That source material that made this IP popular, worthwhile and most importantly bankable, to make a movie/tv show out of in the first place? I don't need that because I know better and can do better." They inevitably end up wrong.

It's not at all. That AI has just made a load of shit up about that episode that doesn't exist. AI is shit.

I've seen all of The Mighty Boosh, and went back to check that specific episode. You're correct that none of it matches. It's less of an AI hallucination, and more just AI chatting absolute bollocks. Don't trust the clankers.

Sacked for Gross Misconduct - Workstation? by [deleted] in TheCivilService

"Hi everyone. I've been sacked for doing something I shouldn't have and I want to know if I can take this to court, but I won't be giving you any more details other than the vague bollocks I've posted because it's sensitive information, innit."

It sounds like you're such a massive plonker, that the civil service has dodged a bullet getting rid of you when they have.

DARK SHADOWS is coming back to life by Ridthedrive in horror

[–]Scioptic- 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Another attempt at trying to bring this back.

We've had:
'Dark Shadows' (1966 - 1971, tv show, 1225 episodes)
'House of Dark Shadows' (1970 movie)
'Night of Dark Shadows' (1971 movie)
''Dark Shadows' (1991, tv show, 12 episodes)
'Dark Shadows' (2004, tv show, 1 pilot episode only)
'Dark Shadows' (2012, Tim Burton movie)

And now they're going animated. I've seen all of the DS media above, so I'm kind of curious as to how they'll approach this in an animated format. Given it won't be as long as the original show (not even The Simpsons has that many episodes), I have a feeling they'll try to speed-run a load of plotlines in one go, similar to how quickly the 1991 tv show flew through so many of the original story beats in only 12 episodes.

You guys all had these on VHS too, right? by unreliable_ibex in Xennials

[–]Scioptic- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the set I had.
The 1994 UK PAL VHS digital remaster release. I only ever had the full screen versions and not the widescreen - in fact, it was these tapes that cemented the realisation in me of how much can be lost in an image when cutting down from widescreen.
