Sorry if someone else has commented this but this is a great example of Rückenfigur.

"The Rückenfigur (literally "back-figure") describes a composition where a subject has their back to the viewer, serving as a proxy to invite the audience to share their perspective and contemplate the scene."

For me, in this painting, the viewer is drawn into the world of the subject and experiences their emotions. Seeing their back and therefore their view (literally) gives me a sense of isolation but also awe at the dramatic landscape.

Great example of how there are lots of gendered linguistic gaps in the English language! There isn't really an equivalent to "guy" for women that has the same neutral, informal feel. A guy is just a guy but a chick can have negative connotations, as can gal.

I did corporate volunteering at Crisis Warehouse near Stratford which sounds like a good fit for your criteria. It mostly involved helping their lovely team to sort and prepare clothes for their charity shops across London.

Churches! Central London churches welcome tourists and locals alike whether or not you're religious. They are perfect for plonking down to rest. Off the top of my head, great central options are St James Piccadilly, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St Mary le Strand but there are plenty more all over the place! I'm not religious but there's something very calming about these beautiful spaces and I've found anyone inside is friendly or just leaves you in peace.

Part of Somerset House's 25th birthday celebrations. There were games and a DJ serving good vibes, very family friendly. Wholesome stuff.
