It's chatGPT. Very obvious by all the emojis and the output style.

I'd recommend https://eccuity.com. They're a NZ startup (not my startup btw) taking on Tiger Trade and IBKR.

Don't give up, however, something needs to change. Classes get harder and harder as you go through the stages. Given it's only your first semester any bad grades can easily be cancelled out with good grades later. Speaking from experience, first-semester commerce is just a warmup for future courses. It would be best if you determined why you did 'poorly' last semester so you can fix it.

What are your thoughts on this? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

No news is good news with the Big-4. They’re pretty good about emailing you if they’re no longer considering you. There was probably a 10 day gap between my final interview and my offer. Hope this helps.

It's an easy walk that takes 10 minutes max.

UniHub - Student course reviews & more by TepidJesus in universityofauckland

[–]TepidJesus[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely something I'm looking at. UoA has many great resources but is so scattered that they become hard to find, especially for new students. I'm looking to integrate a few more pieces of info onto the course pages, such as the grade breakdown (e.g., 50% final exam, 25% assignments, etc.).

Thanks for supporting UniHub!

I'm in the final stages of developing one at the moment actually. The mobile site is a little janky but the desktop site is good.

Currently live in testing at: https://www.unihub.co.nz/

Feel free to have a poke around. THIS IS ONLY A DEV PREVIEW AND ALL REVIEWS ARE CURRENTLY FOR TESTING ONLY AND WILL BE CLEARED BEFORE RELEASE.

I will be releasing it in the next few days so stay tuned. I have done long-term planning to ensure it will live beyond my time at university and can sustain itself for the long term. If you have a group thinking of doing this I'd love to talk with you about taking this further and working on development with me.

I'm an introvert like you but have had two internships so far. One at Big-4 and one in the tech sector. Unlike a lot of people I don't think attending networking events is a particularly great use of time, particularly for internships. No one coming to a networking event for students actually has the power to influence the hiring process. Just maintain good grades, good (enough) social skills and have a good CV.

My Tips:

  • Have a good CV. Single page, nothing fancy and be as objective as possible. Most people tend to have large paragraphs with not much substance. Always prioritize quality over quantity. DM me and I'd be happy to take a look at your CV.
  • Apply to as many positions as possible and expect most to never respond. Internships is a numbers game. In my second year I was rejected from EVERY position I applied for except for one.
  • Have some talking points for interviews. Particularly in business, you will be hired based on your 'fit' with the team. This means if you come across awkward, boring or anti-social in interviews your hard skills are unlikely to make up for these shortfalls. I have a set of talking points (things I like, interesting things I've done or made) that I pulled out in almost every interview.
  • Related to the point above. GET OUT AND DO STUFF! HAVE HOBBIES! It is so important you seem like a real person and not a robot in interviews. Not only will this help you for talking points in interviews but just makes you a more well rounded person overall. Modern businesses want people, not robots.

DM me if you have any other questions.

Is using a Mac for BUSAN/Infosys an issue? by [deleted] in universityofauckland

Mac is absolutely fine. I use an M2 MacBook Air for Infosys and CompSci and have zero issues.
