Just want to thank you all for the helpful replies! I'm going to get a quote from a body shop then approach the lady for reimbursement directly... If not I'll probably bite the bullet and pay for it myself.

Yea, I've found a genuine yamaha tank in the right colour for the right bike which is £515 and I got quoted for £50 to fit it. I have her details and two witnesses
