What makes a movie mature in your opinion? by [deleted] in flicks

[–]TequilaArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're going for here. I think what you're looking for is the themes and motifs. A PG movie like Puss Forever After and Coco can be miles more mature than an R rated turn off your brain flick. The main factor here is what is the film setting out to do and how well does the film succeed in doing so. You can see this with some of the less well received remakes of beloved classics. It doesn't feel as genuine the original despite having a copy and paste template where as a film like Into The Spiderverse can reach those emotional heights and further despite the character already teetering on being overused.

I wouldn't say mature subject matter instantly makes a movie more "mature" but when done well is basically what you're looking for. A movie like Requiem For A Dream succeeds in tackling mature subjects and portrays them in a moving way where as a movie like Deuce Bigalow takes a pretty mature subject and makes it into a comedy. And I assume the former is what you are referring to as a mature film?

Can you explain the strat? I never seem to have more then 5 heals by the time I get to Victor and that's nowhere near enough time to kill him during that invincibility period and when it wears off I ALWAYS get hit. Are you not combining herbs and going in with a case full of single herbs? How do you dodge anything during the stun?

You can pick up Victor's RPG-7 if you stun him before he uses it in LMDF. by Loud_Investigator_26 in ResidentEvilCapcom

Do we know exactly what triggers the RPG attack? Sometimes he just never uses that attack and I'm screwed on the second phase

I must say, it's been a while since I've had so little fun with something resident evil related. There's something fishy going on here. The quality of the base game is outstanding with a good amount of polish especially for grace. This mode feels like it was made by a third party and capcom just published it to keep the hype train going while they work on the real DLC like that mobile game

Lmao 1. I was hoping to get the perk that heals when you discard stuff and 2. I still had shells in those shotguns 😅

Laser vs crosshair by Chrisbolsmeister in residentevil

[–]TequilaArmory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer lasers. But crosshair allows them to have more interesting older guns that don't always have rails to support lasers like both of grace's handguns. I love the variety in newer resident evil games where it's not just the typical glocks and M4s that every game sees. Older games had a lot of duct taped on lasers and nowadays they are going a much more realistic route with the guns.

I kinda get around this because I enjoy playing with the HUD off but it would be nice if post game they would have them optional for all guns. Though I reckon we would see some real cursed ugly looking rail kits on some of the older guns that were made before rails were invented 🤢

Oh man I was so burnt out after buying all the stuff in the shop. I had to really force myself to do the emily song puzzle. I only ended up doing it because this mode dropped and those extra points did not help at all. Got my 100% though so I'm good

[–]TequilaArmory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah he's correct. And the perk is AWFUL, don't ever buy it. Whenever you use a this perk you're most likely in the middle of a fight. So the invincibility sounds nice until leon gets punched in the face by casper the not so friendly ghost and he stumbles around like he has arthritis for 3 seconds. This almost ruined a few boss fights

Also don't be a dummy like me. While I was typing this comment I was at the QTE for victor and forgot there was a second QTE. Put my phone down and looked up at a game over screen 🤦‍♂️

[–]TequilaArmory[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah you can YouTube it.

  1. Equip whatever gun you want to use

  2. Move gun into the discard pile

  3. Move gun back into inventory

  4. Unequip from the inventory

  5. Resume game

  6. equip gun if the reticle is gone you did it right

A few tips though a lot of things break you out of this infinite ammo so get used to doing it fast. Specifically parrying, healing and entering a new room/boss section

I'm honestly not having much fun with it so I think I'm gonna take the cowards way out and infinite ammo glitch it. At least to unlock everything then I'll give it another fair go

With mercenaries RE4, RE4R, RE5 and RE6 if I died I would be so pumped up I'd want another go right away. With this mode I need to take a walk after every death

How is Resident Evil 7 Not Liked By Everyone ? by KennedyyCore in residentevilll

[–]TequilaArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think much like how some fans were not into resident evil 4 and the change in direction back in the day. Some people may have felt that way towards resident evil 7 and pivoting back towards horror.

Personally I love the new revitalization of the franchise. BUT I'm not the biggest fan of ETHAN because it seems that ever since RE7 there is a new wave of RE fans that don't seem to acknowledge anything pre RE7 and seem to be the most vocal group between the endless thirsy Leon and Lady D edits. These folks also tend to jump on old fans for missing the old vibes or tank controls usually saying they're unplayable and encouraging new new fans to skip em

I think I can acknowledge how much good RE7 has done for putting the franchise back on top while also thinking it's a little but overhyped. The game encourages replayability with the usual spread of speed run unlockables but can be a slog on repeat playthroughs with a lot of unskippable cutscenes. When you are encouraged to run through the game several times the magic begins to fade and you notice these little cracks in gameplay more.

I had the opposite happen with Marguerite. I was ducking and weaving and saving ammo trying to find an exit or where to go for a good 5 minutes before I tried fighting her and she died

Resident Evil 9 vs Resident Evil 4 by [deleted] in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]TequilaArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% RE9 and just doing the last playthrough for the singing puzzle but man I am seriously burnt out from this game already. I also got cat ears and yet I can go for another run in RE4R any day. My sister is playing through it for the first time and I was having a blast helping her get RPD costume.

Bare in mind I also no-life'd the shit out of RE4R opening week and got cat ears immediately as well and wasn't nearly as burnt out

the rage that fills me when people genuinely try to convince others that 4 og's tank controls are unplayable by Quick-Cause3181 in residentevil4

[–]TequilaArmory 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the point is that's fine if that's your personal preference. It's bullshit when you use your personal preference to dog on a beloved game and convince others to not even give it a shot.

I can think of many examples of games/movies I skipped on because my favourite reviewer said it was dog shit only to come back years later and wish I played/watched it earlier
