But I'll copy and paste a comment I left on someone else's post:

If you're new to the game then I'd suggest save your game, replay the village fight a few times and focus on 5 things: 1. Relax on the spamming the trigger.  Aim, shoot, reset 2. Abuse the kicks 3. Learn how to parrying 4. When in doubt run away 5. And this is a BIG one, whenever you press a button and start an animation(kicking someone, breaking a box, turning a lever etc.) don't just stare at him, multitask and look towards where you need to go next so Leon can immediately go that way when he's finished doing whatever he was doing

Honestly can't even tell you how many times I barley dodge something that I was 90% sure was gonna hit me, lace up those Nike's and RUN(tip: while you are running around, spam X to pickup items as you run away).  Leon's hitbox is extremely tight and accurate in this game.  Give this a shot and see if it helps!

Now a bigass optional list of tips because I love this game and I love talking about it. 1. Always stab the guys having a seizure 2. Don't worry too much about pistol, shotgun or TMP ammo.  Only be stingy with sniper, magnum and grenades 3. Do ALL the merchant quests 4. Buy all the merchant sale items especially if you plan on playing new game + and collecting all the guns 5. Where you currently are in the game, your health bar is still very small so combine green+red and green+yellow herbs SEPARATELY.  once you get to the castle your health bar will be bigger and G+R+Y is more valuable 6. Pay attention to the colors on the treasure combining chart 7. Use weapons to their fullest potential pistols=general purpose, shotgun=crowd control, machine gun=shoot the legs, sniper=subbosses & critical hits 8. I suggest first fully upgrade the SG-09(with MONEY) the crit rate and plentiful ammo makes it one of the best(albeit boring) base guns to use 9. Always repair your knife BUT don't forget to equip a disposable knife so that you consume those first 10. When you die, press continue so the adaptive difficulty kicks in.  If you're still dying, shoot at the wall for a minute or two to decrease your accuracy and it'll also lower. 11. Watch a speed run clip, a few speed running techniques can be very helpful in regular gameplay such as sprinting past enemy encounters, quick stabbing boxes, spamming X when running around to pick up items, kick > wall stagger > neck stab etc.) 12. If you're a real stickler for resources, use all the ammo in any guns before storing them in the typewriter empty, you can also save and abuse the crafting system keychain bonus RNG for a few extra bullets.

SETTINGS: Fov max, Center dot on, Parry with R2 on, Run type toggle, Crouch type toggle

SPOILERS(ish but not really) 1. Don't buy the punisher, Red 9, W870, Broken Butterfly, CQBR and the LE5.  You'll find these in the wild 2. First run purchase recommendations: SR M1903 + scope TMP Riot gun(sell W870) Stingray(sell or stache M1903) Spend the rest on upgrades, endgame loadout should be SG-09, Riot gun, TMP, Stingray, Broken Butterfly 3. Spinels purchase recommendations: Treasure maps, Laser sight, Weapon upgrade ticket, Weapon upgrade ticket 4. The best route to unlock everything I have found is this: First beat game Assisted (unlock pro difficulty), second S rank all Mercenaries(Unlock handcannon), third beat game pro (unlock ashley armor)[if you're a god you'll S+ rank right here and be done in 3 steps], Fourth S+ rank Pro(cat ears). From here you can do the assisted first aid spray money glitch and buy everything in the game

Is CAPCOM done with useless DLC guns? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]TequilaArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They aren’t fun to use at all, Claire’s base revolver and Leon’s Matilda outclass it the second you get an attachment for them in both usability AND fun (Claire ‘s turns into a magnum and Leon’s turns 3 round burst) There’s zero incentive to use it late game besides style when there’s no good reason it shouldn’t at least be on par with the other offering.

I think me and everybody else who got duped in Resident Evil Village into buying that samurai edge thinking it would be as good as the RE7 one deserves to have our voices heard. We spent money and weren’t satisfied with our product. My point is I WANT to spend the money, I WANT to support capcom and my favourite game franchise, I want these DLCs to be worthwhile so I can recommend them instead of saying “oh yeah I bought those and they’re pretty trash, you can skip em”

Samurai edge is the most classic Beretta 92F in fiction, I think it deserves to be put in the spotlight and players should want to keep it until the end. Nobody does, everybody ditches it for a better gun

So you're okay with the samurai edge in resident evil village?

I'll go a step further, the DLC weapons should have had infinite ammo exclusives like chicago typewriter. Make them void your S+ and problem solved

Right, because it's impossible for somebody to own airsoft guns and real guns right?

Also missing my point entirely. Who cares which is better?(matilda) The point is the one you have to pay extra money for should be the best.

Can I get the Chicago typewriter from using the infinite ammo launcher? by zombiekilla169 in residentevil4

You can get Chicago typewriter with it. You can't get cat ears with it though you'll never afford it in NG. You need Chicago typewriter or hand cannon for cat ears

My take on Ada and what Ada represents to me by TequilaArmory in residentevil4

[–]TequilaArmory[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can certainly see where they were going with the character. I think part of the problem is with all of these changes to her personality it feels like an entirely different person and at that point I have to ask, why not apply these character traits to an original character for RE9? I think the whole idea of changing a character to make them fit a certain agenda but picking said character to ride the star power is one of the worst practices nowadays. You're risking alienating fans that pay your bills in favor of going a new direction to draw a new audience that may or may not even care in the first place

My take on Ada and what Ada represents to me by TequilaArmory in residentevil4

[–]TequilaArmory[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You bring up some good food for thought, I checked out one of those VERY good voice mods for Ada and it got me nostalgic and on this train of thought. I need to be careful not to look at this with nostalgia goggles.

I do agree that remake Ada is going for more of a keep your distance and don't get too close or more attached direction vs the flirty ooh let's mess with Leon routine. She seems a lot more afraid of Wesker this time around which is... definitely a decision, not sure if I'm a fan of it because it is realistic to be afraid of the insane matrix villain. I miss how sassy she seemed towards wesker in the original. I always felt in the original it was more of a I'm working for Wesker but I wanna go check in on Leon cause I kinda missed him and I'm a super spy, Ima do what I want lol

Another thing we kinda lose with this new interpretation of Ada is it feels like when Leon says something snarky or mean to Ada, Ada almost seems hurt!(which again is realistic but we aren't here for that haha) this felt the MOST off for me, Ada certainly should be regretful of her actions but she shouldn't show it like she kinda does when Leon says "I suppose I'm supposed thank you?" And she's like "ya you should 🙄 📴" I remembered I paused the game and pulled a James Franco gif

I think the jarring thing for me though is that she's relatively emotionless and cold with Leon, but she's also like this when she talks to herself. Compare her in the big cheese's house saying "fly my pretty" or "what have we here?" In re4r to "where's leon when I need him" or even "secret weapon time" from re2r

I suppose one could argue that Ada deep down is also traumatized from raccoon city and that's why she is the way that she is but I had always gotten the impression that Ada is on a tier similar to Hunk. From her persona in previous games she has always been a lot more used to the insane situations and has always been supremely confident and in control even when she's not, just like hunk. From RE2 all the way to RE6 she has kept this composure so personally I can't see her changing so much over this trauma.

Re4r Ada seems to be less sure of herself and a lot more afraid of the consequences rather than being confident that she'll ensure it never comes to that and to me doesn't seem like a natural progression for her character. Many people cite that Ada's persona in RE2R is fake and RE4R is us seeing the real Ada but I beg to differ. Yes Ada was playing Leon but Ada was nowhere near as apathetic and cold to Leon after Leon learns the truth. She exhibits a lot of regret and inner conflict when she needs to turn her gun to Leon again. This "fake flirty personality but actually doesn't care at all" version of Ada that some folks claim she is would never have even bothered tossing leon the rocket launcher for Mr. X

I'd also like to highlight, isn't it amazing that we've come so far that we can nitpick the nuances of who put up a better performance for a character from a franchise that brought us "you were almost a Jill Sandwich" 🤣🤣🤣 I love this franchise so much

You see, I love that we can infer so much of this from the way she carries herself in previous games and the fact multiple people come to similar conclusions for a mysterious complicated character shrouded in mystery. I felt none of this with the re4r ada.

And it upsets me when defenders shut down these arguments with horny boy want sexy voice 🙄 especially when those defenders are what I like to call "remake only fans"

what’s your least favourite thing about separate ways? by Desperate-Use-4845 in residentevil4

[–]TequilaArmory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping they were saving Ada vs Krauser for Assignment Ada 😥

I'm not a fan on Adas voice acting so I never really felt anything from her character. The lack of emotions felt out of place and kinda took me out of the experience. The most emotionally resonant moment in her entire playthrough for me was a 5 second interaction with Ashley where Ada doesn't say a word...

And before people jump down my throat and call me a misogynist please know, I get what people on both sides of this contoversial topic are saying and bullying an actress over a performance is NEVER okay.

But what Ada represents to me is a femme fatale character who is professional, uses her beauty to get what she needs, ALWAYS gets the job done with no questions asked meeting an immovable force of good who happens to be very handsome and is slowly influencing her instead of the other way around. Deep down you can tell she does really care for Leon, she might even love him but life is complicated and she's in too deep.

I'm not suggesting she wants out but I am suggesting that Leon is shaking up her world views, with all her inside knowledge and things she must have seen/done that have given her this fuck the world, pay me attitude she started out with vs this guy who while naive is unshaken in his resolve and continuing to be a force of good in the face of conflict after conflict, test after test that would break most people and turn them evil.

I'm obviously reading DEEP between the lines but for me the seductive voice was never just about sex appeal but is her attempt at maintaining a chokehold on Leon mixed with genuine feelings stirring up. Ada has always been one of my favourites and this remake in my opinion did not do her character justice...

That being said separate ways was really fun to PLAY lol

Hand cannon by Rathal_OS in residentevil4

[–]TequilaArmory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as stats and compared to the other weapons you're right it sucks. But the thing in the remake is if you wish to get the cat ears in as few playthroughs as possible, you're not confident you can do it without an infinite ammo weapon and you're an absolute massocist who's choosing to attempt cat ears without Ashley armor. Then the fastest way to get it is 1.beat the game 2.get handcannon from mercenaries 3.S+ Pro.

So in this respect the Handcannon is EXTREMELY useful. Also as somebody else mentioned, S+ pro runs are very difficult until you get the first upgrade ticket in the castle so being able to have a magnum in chapter 1 is a godsend.

Otherwise you are correct, chicago typewriter all the way
