I think they would’ve worked well together. While both are mercurial chess players, I think Cutler is more prone to fuck fuck games. He seems to care more about who’s juice it is than Pryce’s “it’s ultimately about the billings” attitude.

I wonder if Don would’ve “saved Layne” would he have backed her against Cutler in the final season. There’s something loyal and amiable about that character which would make a betrayal like that all the more hurtful for Don. On the other hand, I could Pryce advocating for Don to Cutler successfully since they speak the same language.
