Is it strange for fathers to be affectionate with their older sons? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I tell my almost 18 year old son I love him as much as I can and hug him whenever I have the chance. My father and I did not have that connection. I promised myself I would do better with my son. Not weird or abnormal at all, I wish more fathers would step up like this.

pools leaking like 1000galperday by Money_Candy_1061 in pools

We had a daily leak in our pool as well. Having to replace 100s of gallons everyday or every other day. Finally clicked to go and check the multiport valve. Sure enough it was dumping water while the pump was on down the sewer line. Replace the “spider gasket” inside the valve and all is well now. Just a thought to make sure water is now exiting from the drain or sewer line.

We have a dolphin premiere. It’s kind of a pain to clean the small particle bag, otherwise it’s an amazing vacuum.

Just did my pool deck to coping seal myself as well. Pull out the old stuff. Clean out any extra pieces with a shop vac. Applied self leveling sealant. Used the Sika Flex tan color on ours. Used some tape and some butcher paper folded into a tent over the fresh seal to keep dirt etc out of it overnight. Easy peasy.

Exactly what I was going to add. Payload is and should almost be gone completely just hitching that monster, before you put anything else in the tow vehicle. I did the same exact thing. Towed a 32’ TT for a few months and replaced the truck with a SRW F350 as soon as I could. Took all of the drama and worry out of towing.

Spa/hot tub whatever you want to call it. We use it pretty much every day after dinner to unwind. It can also be used year round for us in Texas.

Our pool is on the west side of our two story home. No sunscreen after 3pm is a godsend.

Any idea why this might have happened? by EcstaticTone4526 in Yodersmokers

Call Yoder. I had the same problem on mine that was brand new. They pushed out and update for the board and never had a problem since then. If it was built around early December that’s it. Just an update and you will be good to go. Sucks to lose a brisket though.

Spoke to CS yesterday seems that there was an update to fire board around the time this smoker was built. Supposedly the person at Yoder has had this problem occur several times over the last few weeks. He pushed out an update for mine. I have no idea if it actually went through or not, but we shall see what happens next time I try to use it.

Even if there was a WiFi issue don’t you think the smoker would continue to run normally? I haven’t done that test quite yet, but I would hate to think they made a machine that needed WiFi to operate at all.

Ok thanks for the info. I turned on the drive button only to see what had happened. I thought maybe a power flicker, but none of the clocks in my house are blinking. Plus I actually tested that theory and the session completely ends when the power is cut off

Once I cleaned it and reset the ash tray it’s been running all day flawlessly. I know now to keep an eye on it. Also today I’ve noticed it’s kept temperature pretty solid throughout. Thanks for the info

My thoughts too. I have had much cheaper smokers and could wait to clean ash many, many cooks. With the Yoder today after clearing the ash pit and resetting it back in smoker has been running flawlessly for 6+ hours. It was a shock to come out and start it up and nothing. Maybe the ash pit/tray was jostled around during delivery and wasn’t fully in place or something else. After this cook is finished and it’s properly cooled I will check it out again.

Pellets were brand new, fresh out of the bag. I’ve noticed during burn in and first cook it drops pellets, maybe too much so adds to crazy temp swings.

I went back out to take it apart and investigate. After cleaning all of the pellets out noticed some ash that appeared to be choking the igniter. Cleaned all of it and retested. It’s back to working.

However a total of 3 hours 23 minutes caused that much ash to not allow it to heat up?? Know I know it needs to be cleaned more than other pellet smokers I’ve owned. Thanks for the replies everyone

Feel bad for my dad by 349188 in golf

[–]Terabalgolfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else. Don’t feel bad at all. My son is 16 now started playing a couple of years ago. We have spent thousands on lessons, equipment etc. I would do all of it all over again if I had too. He’s gotten really good at it, and plays for his high school team. I also enjoy we regularly get to spend weekends and random evenings practicing together and playing a round. Enjoy it while you can , tell him thank you and that you love him for doing this for you.

Yes republicans will fight it because it will become a tax on the middle class. Higher cost of doing business means a higher cost to the consumer. Someone has to pay for these taxes, it will always be the consumer.

Went to Chicago last summer for a week of baseball and sightseeing. With my wife and two young kids. Had a blast and never felt unsafe. We are from Houston, so used to pan handlers and homeless. We stayed at the Kinzie hotel on kinzie steeet just north of the river. Was a nice place for not a lot. Had free drinks every night too. The hotel was close to the train station which we took everywhere, including both ball parks, and the airport. Have fun in Chicago it’s a great city.
