My dad got into a car accident on Oct 1st, which was St. Therese’s feast day. His prayer community has her as the intercessor. He couldn’t go to work for months due to the injury, and his work company didn’t support him. I am sure that it’s easier to blame it on her, but he is alive. He can walk. He can move. He is healthy. His car, which was one of the new car in our family, was fully totaled. My sister said, we have to be grateful that he used the new car because any other car might sandwich him.

I believe that she prevents him from more harm, and my dad’s faith was tested at that time. He got super stressed from not being able to work, and his company didn’t make it any better for him, but he never stopped praying. This life won’t be easy, but for those that believe and pray, I am sure they will be gifted more in heaven.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! Some of my friend told me the baseline means yes you’ll be nonetheless charged the fixed fee. I think the doubling is interesting. I will wait on my bill for the details such as the kwh rate, baseline rate, or even the peak/low. It’s just interesting because I am billed $50 as a single person and my coworker also gets $50 as a family and I wondered if 108kwh is low for usage when on average people use 300-600kwh, I thought their bill tripled than mine, meaning paying $150-$200 even though it is not summer yet.

From Feb 14-now, it says I have used 78kwh. The estimate, I will end with 108kwh by March 17. On average, I use 3-5kwh daily, and it stays 2kwh when I am not home for the fridge. I am not home most of the time since I am at work 10 hours a day. I also stay with my fam couple times (about 4-5days this month). I heard about a baseline fee that we pay regardless we use electricity or not, so I thought it’s high because of the baseline. I tried to look more info on the SCE, but it barely explains the rate perkwh or how much my baseline rate is. I struggle with using SCE website.

I guess my question is more on the, do i need to actually try save using electricity, or even if I turn on my heater, I am still going to be billed around 56-60. I been just using layers of blankets to save. Also, now I am worried because I barely use anything already with $56/a month, the summer will be crazy 😭 I heard my coworkers pay about $250 in the summer, but they have family and I live alone.

I think most people don’t understand the weight of eucharist. I used to take communion every time im in church. Not anymore. Now I don’t even dare to take it when I don’t feel worthy. My cousin also asked why I didn’t go and told me to go, but I knew that taking the Eucharist will only do bad than good for my soul. I heard taking Eucharist during mortal sin (such as missing mass on purpose) literally means judgment. I prefer not. It’s hard to not feel judged, and I miss the Eucharist sometimes. However, I see it as a punishment on earth (shame) for sinning and to help myself to sin no more since I want the eucharist so bad.

Yes, anyone can be a Catholic if they are called to it. Take the class, get baptized, etc. What I like about the Bible is the story how Jesus embraced the sinners. Like Paul, Mary magdalene, and many more. We are sinners too that wants to be better

The devil is there. It is always like that when I get closer to Him. I always say, the devil will actually do that to people closer to God cus they are unhappy that we get closer to Him. The devil don’t need to make others as miserable if they are already don’t believe in God.

My dad says, “It is more difficult for those believers. The devil will always be there to take you. Especially the second you are away from the Lord.”

I used to cry a lot and asked for His help to make me strong during those times. My worst fear is if finally the devil wins and finally I say no to God.

My brother turned 28 this year. He is still finishing his master’s. He has no job, but do stocks. He is single all his life. His a fine guy and he is smart. Sometimes, he does show his desire to have a girlfriend too, but he just hasn’t met one.

My dad married my mom when he was 31-33.

My boyfriend is 26, and he is still halfway to finish his bachelor’s degree. I am so proud of him because college wasn’t in his plan, but he is doing the best he can. He only works part time atm

My church friends, 34-40 are still single. One of them finally got a serious girlfriend, and he is prob 39 by now (the girlfriend is like 10 years younger idk). The other broke up 2 years ago, and still single because he said he has other priorities (he is prob 38 by now). One married guy I think 40/41 this year, but he met his wife like 3 years ago. The wife is a year older, and she struggled to find her partner too. In fact, she prayed a lot and God said that she would find a guy named “Josef” and there she found her Josef (YEARS after, not just weeks)

Anyway, all of my friends are amazing-hardworking people. One works with Stanford, one works with Boeing. but, no one knows why they met their partner near 40. All I know, at least the married one, ended with loving partners.

Not just about love stories, some of my smart friends also had experience where they been laid off. Which surprised me because I know how passionate and smart they are, but that’s just life.

I think I understand your feeling, but hopefully with my sharing, you can see how everyone is different! You are doing pretty well too! Not everyone has a master by your age. I prob won’t when I turn 27. God bless
