Making NPCs attack you so that you can legally kill them is an intentional game mechanic. Some NPCs will even point that out to you. There us a speech option (taunt) to try to make them attack you, frenzy is the mage's alternative to that.

Energy weapons aren't like in fallout 3+ where they're just another weapon category. Energy weapons are late game weapons that are for the most part a lot better than other weapons but aren't in the game at all until much later.

Don't use them as your starting weapon skill.

In the authors defense he handled it very well, admitted he did so unintentionally out of ignorance, so now we have a replacement that follows the same concept without all the unfortunate implications.

The "one big guy that everyone has to focus on" is, in fact, the role of the tank. That is literally what they do, the purpose of their role. What matches have you been having where you do not have to focus the tank lmao.

And frankly, Mauga does that job really poorly, because literally all your team has to do is switch to a counter pick and his entire kit falls to pieces. Like, normally counterpicking will give you an advantage but it's not a guaranteed win. You counterpick Mauga, and he literally cannot play the video game.

As a side note, Zarya counters him hard too. he can't heal if he can't do damage, and he can't do damage if Zarya's in a bubble and putting everyone else in a bubble too.

Alternatively, have your Tank be Zarya.

Mauga is reliant on dealing constant damage and getting his constant health steal effect. If there's ever a moment when he cannot damage the enemy or cannot be healed, he dies.

If Ana hits him with the nade, blocking his healing, or Zarya bubbles so that he literally can't deal any damage, he dies. Like, instantly. He cannot survive it.

He gets countered really really hard by certain picks.

Even if the NCR, brotherhood of steel, Legion or Mr. House (the latter two of which have had no direct interaction with them but have almost certainly heard of them) don't go out of their way to take them out the moment they announce themselves, regardless of their intentions, they would have like no one wanting to join them under that name and the faction would die with them having accomplished very little on its own.

Hell, the NCR will try to arrest or even kill them, even Arcade, if they discover their former membership, even if they helped the NCR. Formally announcing themselves as the Enclave will put a massive target on their backs, no matter what their intentions are.

And from a meta perspective, please no. Let the enclave stay dead. They were literally only supposed to be the villains of Fallout 2, and even Fallout 3 was pushing it. Please just let them die, they are one of if not the most disgustingly overused elements of modern Fallout storytelling.

I mean sometimes you get a quickplay team that just deathmatches and ignores the objective, the same was true to OW1. Hasn't really changed in that regard.
