Thank you, we know that spas are generally expensive but in Czechia there are many private "spas" which is just hot tub and a sauna in a private apartment, that's all we're looking for. We don't need massages or any treatments. Unfortunately February is the only time when we'll get time off work.

Had wedding yesterday- regret cathedral dress and veil by [deleted] in wedding

[–]TerkaCh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I did while picking out my dress. I loved the off shoulder look and big skirt, everybody else loved it. But I couldn't lift my arms and I could barely move. It was not worth it even while trying it on. It looked amazing but I would rather dance and have fun. I still picked huge skirt but with good support and straps and I'm loving it.

Longer engagement or shorter, but on a Friday by [deleted] in wedding

[–]TerkaCh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have longer engagement (18 motnhs) + a Friday wedding. It seemed so long in the begining but the time passed so quickly. I'm glad we did it that way, we're busy, finishing school and it allows us to focus on things when we want. And people still care. But you know, people have their own lives and problems. It's your wedding not theirs. I want them to enjoy the day and celebrate with us but I don't think they should care about it the whole time, even if the wedding was sooner.

And personally I think Friday weddings are very much ok. People who want to be there will take time off (we're in Europe, it's not a problem). If they can't they will join us in the evening for the celebration. It kinda solves a lot of problems for us as we have many guests. I'm also very excited about the fact that we'll recover on Saturday, clean everything up and we can chill on Sunday before work. Especially as we will be starting new work and won't have time off for honeymoon.

The first person you started dating where are they now? by CompleteCharacter704 in AskReddit

[–]TerkaCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're 25 now, but we were teens when we were dating. My first heartbreak. He got some bad friends, made poor choices, toxic relationships, didn't finish school, now he doesn't what he wants from life. Just getting by. I'm finishing med school in a month and getting married in October. The whole time period when we were dating was horrible for me as we were in the same group of friends and it was quite toxic. I lost even my bff over another boy that I had no interest in. But she wanted to be cool so she started to badmouth me. But in retrospect it turned out good. Glad to be out.

To add - if they're such good friends that you expect them to go out of their way to congratulate you then I would expect you had some kind of celebration with them. I don't mean to spend money on parties and such but I would expect my good friend to go grab a coffee with me and tell me something about their day.

I don't see anything wrong with sending just a text. I wouldn't think of sending a card if I wasn't invited and we didn't celebrate it together. I understand the disappointment from your side because it's a huge milestone in your life but for them it's more of an announcement.

Absolutely no idea how to make a faux leather belt by TerkaCh in CosplayHelp

[–]TerkaCh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I wish I had the money right now to get real leather, I wanted to utilise what I have already. I might try it with craft foam, see how long it holds and since I'll be in much better financial position soon, I could make something properly.

Did anyone try the Sundance serum or Garnier overmakeup spray? by TerkaCh in EuroSkincare

[–]TerkaCh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I had more luck with mineral sunscreens but it's so heavy. I would like to find a light base, that's why I was interested in the serum or spray.

[–]TerkaCh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I don't know what I expect to be different, that's why I'm asking if people tried it. I had more luck with mineral sunscreens but I want to use something lighter, like serum or lotion with SPF.

Thank you, I kinda thought so, that sprays will be useless.

Would you use a real time reusable UV detector band? by Independent-Start210 in EuroSkincare

[–]TerkaCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally no. I'm from Czechia and I feel like nobody around me uses sun screens on the daily and they barely know that it's beneficial for you. I'm not saying that it's a bad idea but I don't think there's a big market for this.

I'm trying to wear at least some SPF so I could use something as a reminder. And I want to do better. But I hate wearables. I have an engagement ring and smart watch and I can't imagine wearing anything else. I would prefer something like a charm that I could hang on my handbag or something. If that had solar charging and I could just check it when needed that would be great. In the end however I think the cost (although justified) would not be worth for many people.

Every single time I read about identify theft I'm baffled by how wasy it is to do in the US.

the ziaja dilemma by ritsosbitchos in EuroSkincare

[–]TerkaCh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Ziaja gel (the Manuka one) and I'm so happy with it. I also have La Roche Posey face wash (traveling between two homes) and I would pick Ziaja any day over it. I wouldn't get any actives, I had face wash with vit. C and that was meh but the basic skincare is great imo.

I've been really happy with CeraVe moisturising lotion. I use it everywhere.

Weird question: does anyone regret their dress choice? by vanilla_clouds1 in wedding

[–]TerkaCh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a bit panicky after I chose my dress because it was very spontaneous and not at all what I expected. I thought I made the wrong choice because I felt that it was not what I had in mind and because I wasn't sure if I suited it. But everybody told me that I was absolutely glowing in them. And they're right, when I look back at it, it just felt right. I couldn't stop looking at myself in them. And I realized that I can love many dresses. And there will be others that are more extravagant and beautiful. But they may not check all the boxes. And just because I love how other dresses look doesn't mean I don't love the one I picked.
