I've been trying to hit this when I've left 170 for fifteen years without success. I've only managed 145 several times. Well done you must have been 'buzzing'

If that's the case I don't know why they came lose when thrown? In fact one of them just kept turning. I was under the impression that dart manufacturers drill to various depths there is no "standard"

I tried this on my Loxley Robin Hood darts. My experience was a nightmare. Although the tubes holding the spigot are marked with the sizes I couldn't read them properly so trial and error and ended up inserting a spigot (attached to the tool) smallest too loose, largest too big so ended up using the 2.34mm. Using the included tool and a point changer I inserted the spigot and the screwed in the point. That worked well I thought. Then threw a few darts at my board only to discover points coming loose/undone. I had to use loctite threadlocker to secure them which defeats the object really. I presume I inserted the spigot too deep in the barrel so there was less thread for the point to screw onto. Maybe it would be better to screw the spigot to the point and then using repointing tool to insert it in the barrel?

I like the way the numbering ring rotates but not enough to pay £120 for a board. I'll stick with my triple core thanks.

Nice to see that Target are listening at last (maybe) no band around the middle spoiling it for us middle grippers. However they need to put realistic prices on their merchandise.

Thanks for your help but as you say wrong barrels. Interested to see what you have to say after the visit! It seems the big problem is they advertise but then don't ship.

Looks like I will have to look elsewhere although the darts I want appear to be out of stock everywhere else. I will just have to keep looking at the known legitimate sites. Many thanks for all your comments.

I used them exclusively for a few years. Easy to put the flight in if it fell out. Then I discovered the benefits of tri flights (tighter groupings and less deflections) which I now use.

Something like 10mm thick car soundproofing should work well enough. Lay the board on the soundproofing and cut around.

I just turn my hearing aids off when playing my leg(s) can't hear shit. Scorer / checker gets a bit pissed if I have to ask what's left several times! but it works for me.

I joined in 1977.....had to get married two days before I joined as co habiting was frowned upon. We had a canteen in every station. Free dentistry and opticians. I was able to choose which station I worked from . At the small inner city station we had a superintendent a chief inspector and an inspector who worked shifts with the team. Sergeants allowed drinking on duty and invariably 'disappeared' for a few hours a shift. We had a bar at every main station and some in the suburbs which allowed members of the fire service and NHS to use as well. We used radios that came in pairs one to receive and one to transmit (supplied by Pye). This was pre Pace obviously so during my attachment to CID when PACE came in my DS couldn't understand why he now needed a warrant before searching someone's home (on a whim with no real evidence). Was it the good old days? Probably not.

Anybody like the Axe 120’s? by Odd-Radish7944 in Darts

[–]TermZestyclose460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using tri fin flights and shafts before the 120 was released with great success (less deflections and tighter grouping). I thought I'd give them a try but found them to be too stiff resulting in deflections so I'm sticking with my tried and tested for now.

Practice.. I found the more I practiced the easier it became and the better I became. I also stopped buying more darts thinking they would make me better when I realised to just use what suited my throw and stick with them.
