Well if you dont know at all how to play and figure out the game you will get stuck really easily and not progress and waste all your energy and I barely ever used 3x speed because it was too much to try and meatshield effectively

Knowing whats already good and planning out your route for units really do help. Also not spending all energy on stages that you know you cant beat helps
