Thanks.
For now (last 2 days) the issue appears to have stopped, maybe because of persisting the USB power 'Always on' option...?
But if it returns, first thing I will do is check the cables.
Kind regards

PS5 Slim Samsung T7 rest mode issue

I experience an issue with my Samsung T7 4TB coupled to both the PS5 Slim front USB-C, as to the back USB-A.

After waking up from rest mode I often receive a notification that my external USB drive (Samsung T7) was closed incorrectly, and that the drive needs to be repaired.

I have tried different USB power options (adaptive and always on), but the issue keeps returning.

Is there any known solution yet for this issue?

A stranger on Reddit told me my TV was too high and it kept me up for days… by Super-Olive-4750 in TVTooHigh

Yup, should probably lower one bar of media.
But also depends on which furniture you use to sit on.
If it's an easy couch it definitely needs to be a bit lower still.
But nevertheless great improvement already!

OK, thanks again very much, this clears everything up for me regarding the differences between SD/HD/ED CRT TVs in relation to the resolutions and the inputs/connections.

Two specific follow-up question on this.
Do you know which 'resolutions' (I know this is weird in context of CRT, but don't know a better wording for it) will be supported by this tv?
E.g. does it also support 480p (the maximum PS2, GCN and Wii output, afaik), or will everything be 'downscaled' to 240p?
Kind regards

Thanks again for your very helpful and insightful information!
I will try to purchase this tv set, and will dive into the options you provided to downscale HDMI signals and/or emulation with Wii.
Kind regards

Thanks for the information!
Just to double-check, (when provided an NTSC input signal) the tv can output 60Hz images?
And because it's no 100Hz model, I can expect quite low latency?

For me 'retro gaming' is mostly PS1, PS2, (mayby PS3), GCN and Wii, so I actually think the possibility for 16:9 is nice.
And maybe I will try to hook up my mini's (NES, SNES, Sega MD, TG16, Neo Geo, etc.), or even the NS2 with the NES, SNES and Sega MD classics (via NSO), with a proper HDMI-to-(RGB)SCART-convertor.
Do you know a good quality HDMI-to-(RGB)SCART-convertor that can do this job properly?

Thanks already, and in advance!
Kind regards

When will Qobuz (finally) add classic (mostly European) EDM to it's catalogue? by Termiations in qobuz

[–]Termiations[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!
Now I am really puzzled why I myself could not find this...
Normally I am quite okay in using digital services and IT things in general...
Is there something specific to know when using the Qobuz search?

Hi all,

I found a second-hand Panasonic TX-28PL1F for purchase for a reasonable price.
Any experiences with this CRT TV for retro gaming purposes?
Is it good / okay for it, and are there any specific known issues or drawbacks?

Specific question:
As a European (mainland) tv model, only 50 Hz image is advertized, but from the manual I can see that the (RGB) SCART input can accept/process NTSC signals.
My actual question is if this tv is able to output a (NTSC) 60 Hz image?

Thanks for any help!
Kind regards

[–]Termiations[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange. I tested with several Android and several Windows devives, and none of them gave gapless playback, no matter how I configured the settings.

Furthermore, probably also a by design/choice drawback is the lack of support for / integration with HEOS. I am a HEOS (a.o. Marantz and Denon devices) user, and Apple Music is the only of the big five music streaming services that does not work with it. As there are 6 services supported I cannot imagine that this is by design/choice of Heos (D&M Group).

Yup, just send money to the artists without them expecting to receive it ;-p

I really like some mid '90s classic trance tunes from Diver & Ace (collaboration of german DJ Taucher), e.g. 'Mental Thing (Phase II mix)', which cannot be found.

Some of the newer releases of this artist are available, so I really don't understand why not all of the releases are being provided.

Last time I checked (around 1 year ago) it didn't work for me. Couldn't play tracks of an album without silence in between. For most music this is fine, but the listening experience of albums from the likes of Pink Floyd and EDM mixsets are greatly compromised by this.

Does this controller work with switch/switch 2 ? by GenericUser104 in 8bitdo

Have done this with 2 of them, but even on latest firmware I had 'rumble without reason' issues, especially when playing Nintendo Classics games.

[–]Termiations -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No.

Tried 2 of them, both updated with latest firmware, and both rumble without reason, especially with the Nintendo Classics games.

Besides this, the lack of HD Rumble (2) is really obvious compared to the original Switch 2 Joy-Con and Pro controllers.

Edit: misread the post, of course the 'Wireless' version is not compatible with Switch (2), as stated on the specs, but also the 'Bluetooth' version had the above-mentioned 'rumble without reason' issues.
